Since there doesn't seem to be a current girl group; (not major) anyway, I figured I'd ask the following.....
Who were your favourite of the "super" girl groups? Can you think of any upcoming girl groups that might reach the success of the previous ones mentioned? I know there have been others such as the Ronnetts, Runaways, Eternal and All Saints..etc. Most recently Destiny's Child..but it's always only been about Beyoncé.

My favourite is TLC by quite a long way.

Can't think of anybody who's around now who might become the next big thing.

Agreed. And TLC can only say they've sold more records than any other girl group, because Gordy never bothered certifying his artists' records. I love that picture of The Supremes in the first post!

And though their music was mostly overshadowed by other higher profile artists, I love these girls!

Though TLC are my favourites I certainly don't think they were the best singers or even the most talented - just that the overall package did it for me.

I agree that Supremes picture is great - I'm keeping that one.

I keep having double takes of that Belinda Carlisle one though - keep thinking I see more than just legs !!!

Honourable mention goes to UK act Mis-teeq. I saw them live and was pretty impressed.

Hey, what about Salt n' Pepa? Spinderella was pretty hot back in the day...
