Wow.

This EP blows me away. Iron And Wine is basically Sam Beam backed with a band. I am sure not many have heard of him, neither had I.

But when I checked this out I was blown away by Sam beam's voice, his amazing lyrics and the way his melodies find a home in so many musical corners.

First thing this reminded me of was Loreena McKennitt. Her folk also crossed borders, but Iron And Wine is leaning more to pop/rock songman writership than McKennitt's work.

Then you hear sublte Joni Mitchell influences in the guitar picking. I am still very much discovering this EP, but I just want to share with you that this is the best thing I have heard this year...check it out.

I am totally in love with this man's voice. From a person normally drawn to female voices, that is saying something.

I loved their lastest cd. I just seen him on some tv show and he came across really good live. Very intimate. He also had some girl with him singing, don't know who she was. I enjoyed it alot!

their last full length cd is great! my friend lacy hooked me up with a bunch of new music and this was one that got added to my playlist!

Nice too, but with the Woman King EP he gets more instrumental back up and that just gives the music a lil' more 'oomph!'. I wish he had more material and had released an entire album. Them 6 songs are not nearly enough....
