50 CENT DROP "THE GAME" FROM G UNIT

G UNIT ONLY HAS ROOM FOR ON MUSCLE MARY DIVA!

The G-Unit just got smaller. 50 Cent announced Monday night (February 28) that the Game has been excommunicated from the crew because he feels the Compton rapper isn't loyal.

On New York radio station Hot 97, 50 told DJ Funkmaster Flex he was

disappointed with comments Game made on the station Saturday night, when the West Coast MC revealed he would not be getting involved in the beefs 50 is stirring up with "Piggy Bank" (see "50 Cent's LP Pushed Up, Harsh 'Facts' Sound Like Disses On Leaked 'Piggy Bank'").

According to Flex, Game even said he was going to do a song with Nas. "He's gone," 50 scoffed. "He might as well make the record."

50 also said Game should stop saying "G-Unit." "He thinks he's doing me a favor when he says that."

During his conversation with Flex, 50 claimed Interscope was going to drop the Game until 50 stepped in and got involved with The Documentary. 50 also insisted that he's making more money off The Documentary than Game is, and that he wrote more choruses than he's credited for.

Believe it or not, Game was on Hot 97 earlier in the evening, talking to host Angie Martinez. When listeners called in to ask about his and 50's problems, Game simply said he was going to continue to make "good music." Two nights prior, Game had said on-air that he and 50 did not have to be friends as long as they worked toward that same common goal: making good music.

For weeks there'd been rumors of friction within the G-Unit camp, but they'd always downplayed or outright dismissed the talk, and they even held it together long enough to shoot a joint video for "Hate It or Love It," which debuted Monday on "TRL."

A rep for Interscope had no comment on the implosion.

50's interview seemed to end abruptly around 10 p.m., and it was later revealed that the reason was a shooting that occurred either at the station or just outside. An NYPD spokesperson said a male in his 20s from Los Angeles was shot at least one time in the left leg and taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, but no further details were given.

According to sources on the scene, 50 and his crew, which included G-Unit members Tony Yayo, Olivia and Lloyd Banks, were not involved and were escorted out another entrance.

In February 2001, Lil' Kim was at the station when a shooting occurred outside, and she was later indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice for allegedly lying to police and failing to cooperate with their investigation (see "Lil' Kim Indicted For Lying About Hot 97 Shootout With Capone"). That case is currently in the jury-selection phase.

This is what has caused 50 to get all bitchy:

"I'm not getting in that," Game said a few weeks ago, before going on tour. "Jadakiss is a good friend of mine, and I've had a chance to meet and talk with Fat Joe on several occasions, and I think that they're perfectly good dudes. Jadakiss is a real good friend of mine, and one thing I will not do is fight my friends, man. I could call Jada right now on the chirp. I talk to him on a daily basis; he asks me how my son is doing. I call him to check on Styles and Sheek. Jada is a good dude, man."

So what do you do when your friend and the man who you have your career tied to might potentially go to war?

"The easiest way to balance that is go back to being me and just step aside and let grown men do what grown men do, make their own decisions," he determined. "I'm not jumping into the middle of that."

With some wise words like this, it's difficult to just easily write off most rappers as ignorant ghetto clowns who know nothing but fighting, bitches & hoes, drugs & money etc..., that's an excellent response from The Game.

50 Cent cohort shot outside Hot 97

BY ROLANDO F. PUJOL
STAFF WRITER

February 28, 2005, 11:39 PM EST

A member of rapper 50 Cent's entourage was shot last night outside the studios of radio station Hot 97 in the West Village, police said.

The rapper was being interviewed live on the air when the shooting happened at about 10 p.m. He had just made the unexpected announcement that he was kicking out his protege The Game from his crew, G-Unit, for being disloyal.

50 Cent was not hurt in the incident, which occurred at the scene of a 2001 shooting involving rapper Lil' Kim's entourage. The trial in that case begins today.

Police said members of 50 Cent's entourage were leaving the building when they encountered a group of what were described as fans outside the station. An argument broke out, and the assailant was among those waiting outside, police said.

The victim, who is from Los Angeles and is in his 20s, was shot in the left leg. He was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan, where his condition was unknown last night.

No arrests had been made.

Michael Lemma, 22, of Fordham in the Bronx, was listening to 50 Cent's interview on a car radio near the station when the shooting broke out. "There were a lot of people out there. All of a sudden I hear a bunch of shots."

The station, at 395 Hudson St., is no stranger to controversy. Earlier this year, a radio personality at the station was reprimanded for airing a song that was widely decried for making light of the tsunami disaster.

At the time of the shooting, 50 Cent was being interviewed by Funkmaster Flex.

50 Cent is promoting his new album, The Massacre, which comes out on Thursday.

During the interview, the rapper made the surprise revelation about The Game. 50 Cent contributed about half the songs appearing on The Game's current album, The Documentary, which recently was No. 1 on the charts.

50 Cent is also involved in a host of high-profile feuds, including the well-publicized dispute with Ja Rule of Hollis. In recent weeks, 50 Cent launched a new feud with rapper Fat Joe of the Bronx and Jadakiss of New York City. 50 Cent criticizes all three rappers in a song, Piggy Bank, on his new album.

Makes me think of the scene in the movie Empire when they come to take him out Fat Joe and he's firing back from the comfort of his sofa.

How do cats not learn from the past? 50's basically asking to be a targent. Why doesn't he just point out the time and place that shooting should take place while he's at it?

nod thank you. i thought i was the only one that felt this way. back then i was in middle school and now i'm 22 and i'm tired of this bullshit in the industry. 50 cent needs to grow the fuck up. it seems the only strategy he knows to sell records is through making up childish beefs with other rappers. Even though i feel its only for publicity reasons that he is doing this, is also very low, and his music is not "good music".

So if the Game wants to focus on "real hip hop" then yeah, he may need to break away from all of that negativity. If the response for The Game i read above is true, then it seems to me that The Game is on a level of maturity that obviously 50 is not on. This leads me to believe further that 50 is not a real gangsta or criminal or whatever he wants us to believe he is...he's really a bitch

nod I think it is meant to polarize fans so they have to "choose" a side, even though you wouldn't normally care about either candidate.

they are part of the marketing scheme. remember the "big" interview with Ja Rule and Farrakahn but 50 didn't want to be part of it, well that was near the release date of Ja Rule's album, and now this, just before 50 cent's album is to be released. If you gotta start a beef to sell albums, then obviously you ain't that damn good.

So what is he gonna do next?? start talking about alleged incidents between him and Nas' wife???..and then start writing songs dissing The Game???....

that silly rabbit...doesn't he know that tricks are for kids?? rabbit bunny

Naw, Game was never a stripper. And he never had a tounge ring or bleached, curly hair. But Game did appear on an episode of Change Of Heart when he was 17.

Matter of fact, he was on the Angie Martinez show yesterday, when a girl called up to the station to talk shit to him since he had got kicked outta GUnit. And the brung up the fact that he was on "Change Of Heart". He explained him being on the show and FINALLY (after all this time with peeps speculating) denied the rumors of him having a tounge ring and curly hair. I got audio clip from another board of it.
