Plantlife - what you think of them?

http://www.plant-life.net/main.html

I just discovered them today. Yeah I'm late. But do you think I'm late for nothing, or that they are really on the same new wave funk tip that The Love Below started?

hmmm

I don't know why I'm so hesitant to get this. It sounds very promising. I just get the feeling it'll be one of those cds that'll receive a week of play then collect dust for about 8 months.

Yeah, somebody started a thread here awhile back hyping these cats, which grabbed my intrest. They had a list of all of these quotes from people I totally respect musically, so I had to have this cd, I think someone here even said it kills "The Love Below" lol rolleyes

Anyways, I got my hands on their cd and it's a'ight, but definetly not a Love below and the vocals get on my nerves after about 2 tracks. Don't get me wrong they're going in the right direction, but they should've spent more time on production. The whole cd is pretty much forgettable with the exceptions of 2 tracks. I'd give it 2 & 1/2 stars.

hmmm I wouldn't call him part of the fam. He's more on the electronic side, though he is a multi-istrumentatlist. nod

Just how hardcore are you? Are you into heavier stuff like fishbone?

I like some funk-metal yeah, I got Living Color obviously, Infectious Grooves, that's it boxed yeah I need to get some Fishbone. But funky electronica is gooood. While on the dance floor, I prefer to 'lay shapes' than head-bang. I guess that's what it boils down to!

Aww man, you have to get to the wrecka stow and get "Surroundings of my reality and Give a monkey a Brain" by fishbone!! nod Then you have to pick up Weapon of Choice's "Hyperspice". Infectious and Living colour ain't fucking with these cats! hmph!

Oh, if you like funky electronica, you'll like Vikter! h

It's not a solid album, but it has some nice moments. I'd give it a B B+

If you want A+, get this!!
