I never got to go to a concert until the fall after I graduated high school in 1985. It was Klymaxx, Con-Funk-Shun, and The Barkays all on the same show. The Barkays were the headliners.

Klymaxx came on first. These girls could really jam and Bernadette Cooper talked plenty of shit. Then Con-Funk-Shun came on and rocked the house for awhile.

I remember perfect strangers passing joints down the row for everyone to hit and the people next to me gave me Jack Daniels to put in my coke I was drinking. By the time The Barkays came on, I was fucked up. Larry Dotson had straight hair back then with a blonde streak and he was slinging it and cussing every breath. (Just the type of show I like lol). Some of the other Barkays had hair shaved up on side and one of them had platinum blonde hair.

For the finale, The Barkays did "Freakshow On The Dance Floor". I looked at Larry and saw something long and brown swinging between his legs. I told my friends "Damn that's a big ass dick!" Then Larry squatted and pulled it all the way out from between his legs and behind him. It wasn't a big ass dick, it was a 12 foot python. Larry swang the snake over his head like a lasso and acted like he was going to throw it into the audience. The audience up front scattered. He put the snake down on the stage. As the snake slithered across the stage, Larry snapped his fingers and fire shot from his hand. Then he put the snake's head in his mouth and bobbed his mouth up and down on it's head like he was giving oral sex.

The Barkays definately put on a "Freakshow" and they got totally fucking off!

I remember when i was 5 years old and Madonna was coming to town with her Blonde Ambition tour.
At the time we were living with my grandparents, and my aunt was still pretty young in high school and always listened to Madonna. I remember loving to listen to Madonna with her.

Anyways i remember my aunt saying she was going to see Madonna and i wanted to go too. So i asked my aunt, and she said i may be a little too young to go.
Then i asked my mom and she just yelled "NO!"

Later that day my dad explained to me that Madonna was a very evil woman who was going to hell (i grew up in a strict Christian household) If i remember correctly, he said to me that she dances naked on stage..... silly fool
I remember being really upset when i found out i couldn't go and i even cried my my aunt left that day to go see the show.

Well, that was the same day when she was going to be arrested in Toronto for her masturbation scene during Like a Virgin.

The story has a happy ending in which i ended up going to the Re-invention Tour with my aunt last summer.

I saw Maddy on the "Blonde Ambition" tour on May 19,1990 in Oakland. She played three nights here.It was my first Madonna concert and I thought it was amazing.

That would have been a good show. I missed experiencing that Bay Area treasure, but I've heard lots of stories about that place.
