Here is what the Detroit Opera House looks like inside:
I think that it will fit nicely with Tori's performance. Prince performed here in 2002 during the One Night Alone Tour. [Edited 2/28/05 14:26pm]

(opera house pix) Tori is performing there in Detroit? That looks a lot bigger than Hammerstein in NY which has no seats on the floor. I would have preferred the Beacon Theater which is where she played in the NYC the last time.

Yes, it's right downtown. Have you been here before? It's just a few blocks away from Comerica Park, The Fox and State Theatres and Hockeytown Cafe/Second City. It's a nice venue too if I remember correctly. Will you wait after for her? With the long drive here, the emotional experience that is Tori and the length of the drive, I would seriously consider getting a room. Even if you don't want to stay right downtown, you might want to look into something in Ann Arbor. Plus, you wouldn't have to deal with rush hour traffic the next day if you got out of the city at night. is the area safe? i mean, i'm not a suburban housewife or anything but i've heard some awful things about downtown detroit. do i stand a high chance of being shot, cut, carjacked, or ending up on a missing persons list?

for those interested, here is some tori record chart news.
hitsdailydouble.com has tori entering the U.S. charts at #7 with sales of 67,436. i think that's higher than scarlet's walk. in the rest of the world (courtesy of www.thedent.com): U.K. #24 Netherlands #13 France #44 Poland #24 Ireland #27 Norway #6 Switzerland #13 not too shabby for a cd that has a majority of favorable reviews but little to no promotion.

The area of the venue is quite safe. I wouldn't worry too much.
