what great taste in music quentin tarantino has...

particularly in the Kill Bill soundtracks (Vols 1 and 2)

some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard from artists I'd previously never heard of...

Meiko Kaiji, Zamfir, Santa Esmeralda, Ennio Morricone, Tomoyasu Hotei and Shivaree to name but a few.

as well as other cool songs from obsure acts like the 5,6,7,8s, Chigon, Al Hirt etc.

Pulp Fiction was also an exceptional compilation from the master.

So let's hear it for Tarantino and his super cool eclectic taste in music!

Too bad he’s the most annoying, embarrassing, wigger acting son of bitch I’ve ever seen.

Whatever. He might be the most annoying person in Hollywood, which is hard to believe, but the man can direct his ass off. And his taste in music is second only to Martin Scorsese.

Speaking of Scorsese, how come there's no soundtrack to Mean Streets available? That film introduced me to The Ronettes music

I love the "Jackie Brown" soundtrack (maybe my favorite movie as well). And while I don't own it, the "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack is amazing and I would bite for the "Kill Bill" soundtracks, too.

Exactly! The man has yet to direct a bad movie, and his music taste is second to none. From Reservoir Dogs through Kill Bill 2, the soundtracks to his movies have been flawless. He really knows how to frame a scene with a great song. Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction are among my favorite soundtracks ever.

That ugly word popped up in this thread again. Ugh.

Anyway, his soundtracks are excellent, and Jackie Brown is the best of all. I'm being partial, because I love 70s soul music, but it's a great album. Both volumes of Kill Bill are also good compilations.

Um, yeah, what Rip said. I always dug Quentin. We share the same birthdays (Mar 27), and same tastes in music. I remember when I went to go see Jackie Brown , which is my favorite of his, and the movie opened up with "Across 110th Street" by Bobby Womack, I was like "Quentin is a bad motherfucker." I couldn't belive he put that in a film. It was so on target, it was silly. I knew then that he truly knew his shit. Nobody in Hollywood, and I mean nobody, would have even thought to do that. It fit the scene like a glove, and Pam Grier knew exactly where Quentin was coming from.
