I never thought I'd say this, but Thank You Jesus for the 'Get Right' remix video! Whew!
I never thought I'd be begging for another generic hip-hop collabo by J-Lo, but it's saving me from hearing that non-song every hour on the hour. At least now they mix it up with this far superior version featuring Fabolous sans the grating horn samples. You can actually hear a tune in there now! ![]()

I'll take that over those horns any damn day. It's actually a sax. And the idiots actually titled the mix "horns down mix".

And the idiots actually titled the mix "horns down mix". I know. I always group sax in w/ horns since they're all brass. Held over habit from band class.

It is more tolerable than the "Face Down, Brass Up Mix", but I hate her voice!

I do like this song but just not enough to invest in a J. Lo album...and frankly, I've been spending money to loosely lately.

The more you talk about her "music" or what new album she is releasing unfortunately gives some credence to what seems to carry her career. I personally don't see one thing that explains the interest that any media person shows in whatever she does other than she has a cute face and a good body....personal attributes that are not unique to her in the least.
She is by no means an accomplished actress (which is not to say that she is terrible...just that she does not blow anyone away with what she may bring to the table)...she has an ok voice...but cannot honestly be confused with someone who would be a vocal role model for anyone....yet still gets publicity... And people lament the lack of musical talent that is out there today and also what we are "privileged" to hear on the airwaves of our radios....if the consumer would speak with an honest mouth, maybe we could push stuff like this off the radar screen and make space for people who deserve to be heard.....the same stations that play trash like this new "song" are the same stations that have not played any of the new Prince album, not to mention other artists who you would find in a book of musical geniuses....not that they should be forced to play Prince...but it shows the unfortunate priorities. I don't know how we turn the tables, but I know that the more we talk about folk who have real talent is the less room we allow for the kind of musical morass that comes from "artists" like jennifer lopez and others like her. It is just sad that stuff like this is allowed to prevail.....

Also, the programs that pump J. Lo aren't out to promote artists...they just want to get a good story and Jenny, with her hands in many media/entertainment pies along with a sensationalized private life, is a good story or makes herself one. And again, of the mindless sutff out there, I kind of like this one. Radio sucks but unfornately talking smack about Jenny or anyone else just doesn't help the situation.

You are correct.....but I guess I don't know what the solution is...really. I obviously do not have to by the trash that I may be forced to listen to on most of the stations.... I do have control of my dollars, but I guess what I am most disturbed about is that people seem to be complaining about the lack of talent that is out there...I see people hatin' on Usher ( I don't care for his brand of music either...but I dont hate him...I hate the media for pushing every last single he happens to be on, whether it is fit for human consumption or not)...and talkin about the fact that the originality that we used to be able to observe on a pretty routine basis is practically gone, but for a few brave souls. However, as consumers, those very same radio stations, record labels and other media would be forced to "listen" to us if we acted with our dollars and our ears and simply ignored the attempts to force these poor imitations of talent on us. Somehow, though, we don't seem to en mass, be able to turn the tide...and so we seem to be forever destined to try and find some musical merit in the latest Ashlee Simpson, or jennifer lopez, or Usher, or Mario, etc....because the powers that be figure we will spend our cash on their likes. It seems kinda cynical, at best, to me, if we have to find some measure of merit in a supposed song when the REMIX is released. There seemed to be a time when the original did pretty good, thank you, and that all the remix did was take it to the dance floor of the clubs...into a different environment. Now we are praising songs, because a remix of a song that sucked to begin with sounds good. Go figure..... [Edited 2/26/05 0:09am]

Yes...Forced is the wrong choice of words....I do change the channel until I hear something that sounds interesting...most of the times I just give up the fight, and as you say, put on a CD or read a book. It seems to me, though, that we must be in the very small minority, because even when we vote our musical choices by not patronising these stations or buying that kind of music...it still gets pumped right back at us. Try calling a radio station nowadays and requesting something.....it's a waste of time if it's not on their "playlist", no matter how recogniseable the artist may be. So if the beast does not change from the top down....nothing will really happen.

Haven´t heard it yet. Have they added few more tunes, or is it still those stupid 3 or 4 tunes repeating over and over again?
I think her only great song was Play - or at least that´s the only one I like. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

BTW, who is reading books in there car! That's where I think most people listen to the radio. ur not forced 2 do anything...the radio isn't the only option even if u r in the car...cars don't just have radio's any more. they also have tape players and cd players.i understand that people don't like everything thats on the radio but the way people bitch and moan about it, it sounds like SOMEONE should be making an effort to change and it.but their not. so until someone does there is an alternitive. u can either deal with it, find a station u like, listen 2 a cd or tape or don't listen 2 anything at all. cuz radio aint changing anytime soon and when it does finally change a lot of u probly still wont be satisfied. [Edited 2/26/05 12:39pm] Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
