Hey thesexofit - Michael's tally above excludes single sales as well sales of The Ultimate Collection (4 CD/1 DVD), certain music DVD titles (eg. The One, Dangerous: The Short Films, etc.), material recorded with The Jacksons, and Motown era solo and Jackson 5 albums.) Those figures aren't available.

Oh right cool thanx. I didn't know?

It would be interesting to see the whole figures?

This ain't related but "moonwalker" was a huge seller on VHS. I wonder if that was one of the biggest home video sellers ever at one point?

Heya - Moonwalker (1989 VHS; not available on DVD) was certified 8X platinum (800,000 copies) by the RIAA on April 17, 1989.

Since Soundscan was implemented in 1991, Moonwalker has scanned 136,920 units, therefore, it's USA total is well over 1 million copies.

I'm not sure what the best selling music video is...

If it was a huge hit, it would be.....but let's not.

In the UK it reached #2, so it was definitely a Madonna single.

because it was Madonna's gig, and they hadn't even (re-)recorded it as a duet. the recording happened right after the VMA's.

Madonna and Jamie King had orginally planned to do Nobody Knows Me as the opening of the VMA's, with a video montage of Madonna from the begining of her fame til now. Madonna decided it was too self surving and that's when the idea to duet with Britney, X-tina, and P!nk came up. P!nk said no, and Madonna called in Missy.

Britney played Madonna the song during rehersals, and Madonna asked her if that was going to be the first single off of the album. Birtters said yes and asked her to duet. Madonna changed a few lines and added a couple as whell and reocored her part, that's about it.

Apprently the shot for the video was rough, and Madonna and the director did not get along or have the same vision. Since it Jive footing the bill instead of WB Mad's had to take a backseat.
