Get Right or Ride?

I dont know if anyone has mentioned it or done this but....I was listening to a NY radio station and the DJ played both Jennifer Lopez's Get Right and Usher's Ride back to back. And I began to wonder... hmmm

Which song does the org family like, if anyone heard both?

Honestly, I can't stand both of these people...both are sappy and annoying singers. But I really like Jen's song more because the lyrics and the beats sounds more for her than Usher.

What do you think?

"Get Right" has a better hook, but "Ride" has a better bridge...

honestly it is too bad Usher didn't sing "Get Right".

My sister told me Jennifer Lopez also has a remix of "Get Right" that is better than the original.

Both are rancid turdlets not fit for Martha Stewart's consumption.

YEAH!
They did not only steal Maceo's horn parts from Soulpower '74, they decided it was more fun to BUTCHER it into tiny, little snippets, just to annoy us even MORE!!!

Like cutting a Picasso painting into 1000 little pieces; and sellign them as selfdesigned POST-STAMPS!

Anyway, I hate the song...

Who's the lame producer who let that song leave the studio that way?! That sample was annoying at first listen. At least Usher has the sense to get Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis to produce some of his songs.

he must not have any other hits then, because no song in history has been annoying as that J.Lo mess.

Crazy In Love? He's obsessed with looped 70's samples.

I do LOVE the new song he produced for Amerie though. That's my jam. Probably his best production if it outlasts "Crazy In Love".

I finally just saw the remix video for "Get Right"

I LOVE THOSE SHADES FABOLOUS IS WEARING. cool

Of course, Jennifer is gorgeous, and removing the horn and replacing it with a synth arrangement makes her singing/words more audible. In this case, I don't think that's a good thing though. razz

Still don't know what the chorus is saying. confuse

From Salon.com's "Audiophile":

A radio miss and a hit

Rich Harrison is responsible for Amerie's brilliant "1 Thing," but he also produced and is partially responsible for the wretchedness of Jennifer Lopez's "Get Right." (download from iTunes) The saxophone sample it's based around is cool, but somehow it never really gels, and the choruses are a confusing clutter of sound. Maybe what Harrison was trying to do with all that clutter was to hide poor J.Lo, but if so, he was unsuccessful. I don't know how, but you can hear her tone-deafness right through the auto-tune. Magic!
There are great songs on the radio right now too, and I think my favorite of them is Eminem's "Like Toy Soldiers." (download from iTunes) Eminem's production's the thing here: a single sputtering snare drum with beautiful, spare keyboard chords on the verse, and then that dizzy, spinning, clap-along-while-you're-crying chorus, lifted whole from Martika, but sped up and smudged, faded and melting like a tearful memory. Real magic.
