I could do the same he does with a synthesizer,a sampler and a drumcomputer , nothing to it And i could play all the instruments by myself and sing all the songs he did with NERD You should be a millionare then. Seriously, I've been digging neptunes since they laced that track for Mystical. I could tell then that them cats were thinking outside the box. They have disappointed me many times, though I understand that their goal is to make every track hit on the charts, so they dumb things down a bit to conform to the beast. I would love to hear some of their experimental stuff, you know the stuff they're afraid to let their friends hear, I know that shit is banging! I know what you mean. I like most of the stuff i've heard from them but it would be great to hear some of the more avant garde stuff that they may have stashed away somewhere. maybe as another side project. that would be cool. they might as well. they have enough money so there's nothing to lose.

he has a good, unique sounding falsetto voice...even if he wasn't a producer, he could have had a decent singing career you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

As part of The Neptunes and N*E*R*D then its a definite yes.
In Search Of.. is a great album and a few years ago, the Neptunes were responsible for giving both Pop and Hip-Hop a fresh new sound. Although a lot of that freshness has gone now, its good to see they have tried a few new sounds and ideas on their more recent projects... still I guess it's unmistakeably the Neptunes sound.

at least not in the general discussion forum..... I'm sorry-- it popped up in my head after I was reading some other thread-- I wasn't really thinking music, general, etc. Next time I'll be a lil' mo' thoughtful. But i hate all their commercial shit with Snoop and Nelly Slave 4 U is basically Vanity 6's 'Nasty Girl' so we can thank Prince for that. The Neptunes did do some good stuff: ODB's 'Got Your Money', No Doubt's 'Hella Good' and some other tunes. I hate the stuff from Jay Z, but that's mainly because I find Jay Z the most overrated rapper around. 'In Search Off....' is a good album because it's raw, 'Fly Or Die' never did it for me. Pharell is overexposed, I agree with Dewrede! Pharell I do find overexposed, but have you heard him sing and accompany himself on piano? I heard him sing excuse me miss on piano-- it sounded like a beautiful lounge song.... Welp-- Slave 4 u was a rip off of nasty girl That bow wow song-- take u home-- lil girls loved it-- I later realized he ripped public enemy for that one-- Public enemy no. 1 Somethings are just ripped plain and simple-- even from their earlier work-- Shake ya ass and Give it to me were the same damn thing to me, but i did like both those songs in the clubs... I loved "She wants to Move", though-- I like them much better when they experiment more. Pharrel is doing exactly what Teddy Riley did, Phareels mentor did. Overexposing himself by going on everyones record. At least Teddy didn't sing much so that.....
He, like teddy was, is spreading himself too thinly. Teddy changed his sound into what was bascially his second group "blackstreet". U reckon Pharrel will change his sound? Either way he won't anywhere near as much in a couple of years. At least the neps got respecton a more globel basis unlike teddy. At least Jacko saw sense and decided not to make their songs.....

But i hate all their commercial shit with Snoop and Nelly You should it's "Nasty Girl" revisited. As for Pharrell, eh. I like some of the N.E.R.D. stuff better than the things he's done for other people. So he get's a yay within a nay from me. And btw he should not sing. His voice sounds like what non-singers sound like singing in the shower. . [Edited 2/25/05 18:46pm] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
