Sharon Jones & The Dap-kings

I heart these guys!!

They were at the 400 bar last week & I missed them...only to discover them a week later sad it doesn't look like they'll be stopping here again on tour for awhile. I hate being a late-bloomer! fit I ran to Cheapo last night after school, tired & cold, to pick up their CD "Naturally" & they had none left...the guy who directed me to where the CD normally would be said, "oh...you didn't get to see them?? I won't rub it in evillol"

One of these days I will catch on at the right time pray

There was a thread about these guys a few weeks ago, and it was largely ignored. They're a great band. I wanted to go to the show here at the 400 Bar, but nobody would go with me, and I was still sick with the flu. BTW, Electric Fetus has both of their albums.

Was it the guy with the sort of sandy blond hair and a lisp? He kept telling me how great she was and that she was gonna be in town, as if I didn't already know.

no, tall guy w/ pseudo-long-but-business-like-at-one-point straight hair, graying...and I'm a late bloomer so I didn't even know they were playing neutral I literally just heard & fell in love with them this week.

How & when had you heard of them?

They were on Conan's show in January. If you check out their Web site, they have the performance there. Also, their first album has a cool cover version of Janet's What Have You Done for Me Lately.
