Beyonce - "Dangerously In Love"

I bought this load once I heard her sing the title song live on SNL. Nice song, nice melody, for once the child isn't singing about her ass or somebody's wallet neutral And it has built in peaks & valleys so she's not doing so many vocal acrobatics, which is my main problem w/ her aside from the content of her material.

WHY can't she make more songs like this? Now I admit I haven't even listened to the album fully so I'm not up on everything she writes/sings, but she's got a great voice & a free pass to do whatever she wants right now - how about some decent material instead of strutting around 1/2 naked in videos w/ wanna be gang members? I don't get it...

I do like Naughty Girl (I know, essentially a booty song) & Crazy in Love grew on me eventually, but Dangerously is the gem (if there are any on that album). Me, Myself & I is a mediocre lazy effort, but I guess people like that shit - R&B audiences are SO easy mad I'm not saying don't ever make another sexy song again, but "can you pay my bills" & "bootylicious" is NOT sexy IMO, it's fucking horrifying disbelief

Thoughts? Or is she too overexposed to even comment on? lol blackeye

I liked her album a lot. I think she's better as a solo artist!

Sex sells. Showing you can actually sing and keep your clothes on doesn't.

I did the exact same thing. heard that live performance and it sounded
so utterly goooood. no lame-ass production or hollering, just a good
song and a lovely vocal performance.

Since then the album slightly grew on me but I just missed more songs
like this one. The rest was just too middle of the road rnb by numbers.
where the sun dont ever shine i will shiver the whole night through smile

I like the original version on the Survivor album better...I thought it was retarded to recycle a song you already released on a group album on a solo album...especially since Prince sent her songs...she could have recorded one of those...

Dangerously in Love is one of the few slow jams I can tolerate from Beyonce. I don't think it's a great or classic song, though. I think that her first CD only produced one song that'll last the test of time, and (predictably) that is Crazy in Love. Everything else on the CD just seems half-baked or rushed.

...sad, but true...when you start off shaking your ass nobody will remember your great voice when the boobs are draggin' and the hair is destroyed from over-styling....I do believe there is something to be said for relying on talent instead of sexuality...its called longevity....the sex sells route is usually short-lived...Mariah Carey started her career as one of the most inspiring voices in music history then she decided she need to "spice" it up a little basically derailing her career....its usually one or the other, talent or sexuality...it's been too hard to find the balance between the two for most artists...

I loved the song since the Survivor album, i couldn't believe she wrote something that emotionally open..being so young at the time.....
oh and BABY BOY makes me wanna dance.....it's the only other song on the album i can tolerate.....
