sosgemini said: DavidEye said: yeah, she was. What a "selfish",non-caring person she is,huh? ohh cut the fucking smuggness act davideye, its not very attractive... can we get back to the topic now? Then back to the topic then. Davideye might appercaite this one. Donna Summer's "All Systems Go" album seems to have several songs that MIGHT be alluding to AIDs (and this is surprising since at the time she was in hot air with her gay fans about alleged comments as well as the fact that she had turned down a song about AIDs from Paul Jabara years later, but that's a whole different thread). "Bad Reputation" is a song that says "Don't fuck around" but it's only concern is reputation. "Love Shock" COULD be just a silly song about falling in love but ALSO might be implying that screwing around might get you "infected". Listening to this song and it's upbeat pace and carefree seemingly carefree attitude, I might be reading into it. Now the song that really feels like a compassionate AIDs anthem is "Voices Cryin' Out", which is a huge 80s ballad (and probably her best song on the album, if not a highlight of her entire 80s career). The song is about people suffering but it isn't very specfic. It might be hunger since she says "from some foreign shore" but that just might mean how the public is dissconnected from AIDs. Judge for yourself. Voices cryin' out, voices cryin' out
Voices cryin' out in the night hear them call Voices cryin' out hear them call It's a night Like no other night It's a day Almost turning grey It's a heart Like a broken heart It's a wheel At the end of day It's the plight Of a boy who's scared Of the waves rushing out And the wind in the air It's the sight Of one longing to taste Of life Voices crying out in the night hear them call Voices from some foreign shore Visions that seem an incredible dream Echoing for more Voices crying out in the night hear them call Voices crying out hear them call It's a song Of a love unsung It's the pain Of just being young It's a cry Of a voice unheard Of a face Speaking silent words It's the hope That the time goes by Take you upon a wing Teach your soul to fly It's a wish That you'll live your experience life Voices crying out in the night hear them call Voices from some foreign shore Vision that seem an incredible dream Echoing for more Voices crying out in the night hear them call Voices crying out hear them call Oh do you know how it feels to be free Walking your path of life Embracing destiny one day at a time Voices cryin' out...Oh can't you hear them Voices cryin' out...Listen please, listen to the future Voices cryin' out...Millions and millions and millions of voices Voices cryin' out...Oh oh oh oh Voices crying out in the night hear them call Voices from some foreign shore Vision that seem an incredible dream Echoing for more Voices crying out in the night hear them call Voices crying out hear them call Voices crying out in the night hear them call Voices from some foreign shore Vision that seem an incredible dream Echoing for more Voices cryin' out Voices cryin' out Voices cryin' out... The lyrics are credited to Donna, the music to Harold Faltemeyer. This is the cover of the single, not the album, but I prefer it more. ![]()

Italian but not gay. I know sterotypically those things usually go together...huh? I do beleive and want gay rights because I think that all people should be treated equally and have read and even witnessed way too much discrimination in the past and see a slide backwards if gay men and women do not get treated equally. And I love me some Donna Summer, Kylie, Madonna, Cher, etc., child!...And I don't usually say "child" so I can see how you would get confused.
