Especially since he's the architect of rock 'n' roll, the emancipator, the originator, the terminator, the masterbator...

Its just like society to not acknowledge true talent! They wouldnt know it if it hit em in the head.

I feel guilty to say tomorrow is my birthday. That sucks, because I love Little Richard.

Years ago . . . on the week I moved to NYC, he played and I got to see him for the first time. I snuck down to the 'Reserved' tables (it was a supper club) and sat in a seat near the stage. I figured if the owner ever showed up, I'd just scoot somewhere else. They never did. I got to sit 3 seats away from his piano. We held eye contact for the entirety of 'The Girl Can't Help It'--singing every word. Later on, during his extra kawntry take on Blueberry Hill, he got up, climbed down off the stage and walked over to me. He held the mic down for me and I sang like a fool, all the while he kept laughing and saying 'Gettit on, baby. .get it ONN!' . . .I sang, 'Little Richard's the King of Ro-o-ck and Roll.' and he looked up at the roof and screamed with joy.

caught him last summer . at BBKings, and he's slowed up a lot, but still has an amazing voice. People have never given this man his due, he's been treated as a punchline for years . . people need to recognize, he is one of the great singers of all time--and an amazing bandleader. He was wildness personified, the agitator, the originator . . and just think, if it wasn't for him, Jimi and Prince wouldn't have known how to work those bad dooz. . .The higher the hair, the closer to God, baby.

if he'd spend less time complaining about not getting props and more time putting out music, he might've had a hit in the last 5 decades.

Didn't he have a small minor hit in the late 1980s? I vaguely recall something.

I completely agree with you. He spends way too much time whining about not getting props. Maybe if he would spend more time writing songs and less time reminding us about how great he is, he probably would've had more hits. He's a very talented man, but he's wasted it these last several years!
