When I think of Brian, I think of Ferry, Wilson and Eno. Brian McKnight is not a legend. His voice isn't even that good, but he seems like a really nice guy who goes to church.

He may be able to spell legend, and ladies think he's handsome, but he's about as creative as cold milk. I think most of his music is squat boring, monotonous and dull. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I always thought people thought of Brian McKnight as Male Dianne Warren or Celine Dion. He's the whitest sounding black singer ever. Is his new album GEMINI any good?

In defense of Brian McKnight, I think his first album is wonderful. Is This the Way Love Goes, After The Love Is Gone and One Last Cry are great tracks. I dunno what tha fuck happened to him after that.

That's exactly the problem! His first album showed a lot of potential: Is the Feeling Gone, Never Felt This Way - great songs! Then he just spiraled into nutsuckery I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it

REALLY? ARE YOU SERIOUS? I'm not doubting the cat has some talent, but on that level? To put it charitably, I don't see it. Not at all. It got me thinking does he. Is McKnight the closest we can get to greatness. I dont he has had a classic album as his forefathers has have.
No. See below. But lets face it will never be another "Sign of Times", "Innervisions", or "What's Going On"!!! Is Brian McKnight a legend??? Tell me what u think?!?
I submit that your presumption is wrong. I can name, or show you, several albums released after SOTT that are, IMHO, classics in their own right: ![]()

Now, if you're talking soul classics, mebbe only Bitter (yes, it is a soul record) and fit that list But we need to pay more attention to the contemporary greats in our own midst. Male or female. Give me Meshell or Jill over McKnight any and every day. [Edited 2/23/05 15:23pm] Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Y'know I always thought to was a pretty bold swipe. When the song was in pretty heavy rotation here I could barely stand to listen to it! It good to know I'm not the only one that was hip to Mr. Mcknight's pilferage. -K-
