Dance Of The Infidels - Meshell Ndegeocello

It's out. Meshell's 'jazz-album'. Mainly instrumental. Sometimes very pretentious & abstract, sometimes very soulful and relaxing. Having a first listen right now, I think this album will need more than just one listen though.... What do you think?

Looking forward to her concert in April!

we were just talking about this a couple of days ago:

Yeah... I had ordered it through Amazon France, but it probably won't show up for awhile..... confused Amazon UK list it, as well as other sites, but they all had March 7th as the release date...shrug

I see what you mean, I found the info under discography>albums, it says 'France, February 14', so I fugured Holland wouldn't be long after that.

But why isn't it out in America. Is Me'Shell more popular there or is Maverick just dumb!

Meshell is not getting any airplay in Holland, as far as I know, but she does sell out her shows most of the time....her fans are loyal.
I don't believe this is a Maverick-release, on the case it only says 'Universal Music Jazz France'.

Jazz is probably more popular there, as it is with most of Europe.

I don't quite see where you think this album is pretentious... because the music sounds like typical MeShell without vocals. It's very soothing nod and I'm loving it.

Maverick wouldn't release this album...But she does have a new Me'Shell album coming later this year. This one was supposed to come out last year.
