Favorite Intros

Self explanatory, really. Which songs do you think have the best intros ever, especially the songs that introduce the entire album (ie: The first track on the disc)?

David Bowie - Station to Station
U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name
Prince - Sign 'o' the Times
Talking Heads - Psycho Killer (on Stop Making Sense)
Peter Gabriel - Come Talk to Me
The Cure - The Kiss
Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock

Sara by Fleetwood Mac

I wouldn't say it's the greatest intro, but at the moment it's my favourite

I've listened to Tusk everyday for the last week and whenever Sara comes on I have to stop everything and just listen...

I've always thought Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones was a GREAT intro

And also, especially because I keep seeing it in Anxiety's signature, the intro to Party Out of Bounds by the B-52's is great. "Surprise....Ahhh hey, yeah we just thought we'd drop in". As is the intro to Planet Claire.

You know, not many songs have bad intros to begin with.

Well, I kinda mistitled the thread. I meant favorite album openers; the way the intro to the first song sets the tone for the entire album. Think 'Where the Streets Have No Name' or 'Zoo Station' by U2. Think 'Station to Station by Bowie. Just by the first minute of those songs, you can already tell what kind of album you're in for.

You know I've always prefered The Corrs' version of this song.
Probably Andrea's best ever vocal performance, and Jim really nailed that guitar solo! cloud9

nod I love this song and album. I really wouldn't consider myself a Sheryl Crow fan, but I think that she made an amazing record with this one; it's such a quintessential fall disc. There's just this impending sense of darkness that creeps into almost all of the songs.
