I see the Crue April in Greensboro. Please post a full report so that I'll know what to expect. I've been very surprised that I haven't seen any reports or reviews on the tour thus far. It's a jungle out there.

I will, Jackal. By the way, here's the photo I tried to post earlier. If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

I will, Jackal. By the way, here's the photo I tried to post earlier. ... Nice. Poor Mick is still looking a little worse for wear, but I bet he'll tear it up just fine on stage. Rest of the band is looking surprising well. It's a jungle out there.

OK, here's the review. FUCKING AWESOME (except for a small complaint about Tommy's solo).
DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW (I'm going to try to go into some detail). The show opens with some sort of claymation cartoon about an asteroid headed to destroy the earth, and Motley decides they need to throw one hell of a concert to coincide with the destruction (pretty cool, I believe it was done by the Celebrity Deathmatch people). Then a midget in a demented clown costume comes out from behind the curtain to welcome us to the show (it's a filthy looking circus bigtop curtain), while 2 stripper chicks crawl out of a box at the front of the stage (all night long these girls were doing some wild things (guys, you will find yourself not paying attention to the band while they're out)). Then the music starts & Vince comes out of the box (you can tell that the Remaking Vince Neil thing helped, cos he did look much better than the past couple of tours). They opened with Shout, and Mick's over there wearing some sort of Buckethead style mask (at first we thought it might not be Mick, but he took it off right after the first song. Overall, he moved a little more than I thought he would, but it didn't look easy for him.) The set list was basically the same as the one I listed above, in a slightly different order, but we also didn't get Afraid, or White Punks On Dope. It was so good to hear some of those oldies, especially Louder Than Hell & On With The Show (during OWTS, though, they run some very weird footage of people with various disfigurements (mainly children), and I found myself trying not to pay attention to that, because it seemed out of place & took away from the song). And the Glitter/Without You/Home Sweet Home medley was real nice. Now a couple other things, Nikki had an interesting keyboard/bass solo that involved a lot of use of a theramin, sparks & smoke. Then he started bashing at the stuff & tossed his bass onto the stage, where it exploded (really cool & retro). Tommy's drum solo was kinda cool, but strangley lacked any real rhythm or structure. He basically played a techno-thing from his stage kit, then came out and got attached to a wire, which flew him up to 2 seperate suspended drum kits on either side of the stage. Those 2 kits seemed to be made from trash cans, beer kegs, fire extinguishers & other odds 'n' ends. The problem seemed to be that he was basically just fucking around with that stuff, and overall it just didn't sound right. I'm pretty sure the whole thing was supposed to be more visually stimulating than musically (it was kinda cool). Overall, they sounded & looked great, and seemed to be having a lot of fun being back together (of course, this was only the 3rd show on the tour). Let's just see how long this actually lasts. If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

Thanks for the review. Sounds awesome. A friend of mine went to that same show, and he said that I would not be disappointed. He didn't even know that many Motley songs, but went because his brother works for the Bi-Lo center and got free tickets. He left a Motley Crue fan. It's a jungle out there.

Where were you sitting at? We've got lower level seating. We passed on floor seats, because all of the floor seats were close to the back, so even though they'd be closer than lower level, it would be harder to see. Considering that the tallest of us going is me, and I'm only 5'7''. It's a jungle out there.

Considering that the tallest of us going is me, and I'm only 5'7''. I had 15th row on the right side (but it was pretty close to center because my seat was halfway down the row). I had a great view, but I'm just over 6 ft. tall. My friend is shorter than I am, probably not more that 5' 7, but I didn't hear him complain. The hardest stuff to see was when the girls were rolling around on the floor, but most of their stuff is aerial (hanging from hoops & suspended scarves & stuff), they're VERY athletic.
