RICK SPRINGFIELD early summer releases...

WOW!! I was so glad to get this info in an email from the Official Rick Springfield site.

Coming off the AMAZING CD "ShockDenialAngerAcceptance" Rick went back in the studio and Produced "THE DAY AFTER YESTERDAY" (great title since the acronym is TDAY)

the CD will be 14 COVERS of songs He wished he'd written, very similiar to the HALL AND OATES last year of SOUL covers. Ricks CD will Feature covers of Mr. Misters "broken wings" and actually be a duet with Richard Page. Also Rick will cover "baker street", "waiting for a girl like you" and The Beatles "for No one" one of the best Beatles songs ever.

Thats not all, the covers CD will come out in Early June. BUT in MAY SONY/BMG will release the RICK SPRINGFIELD anthology, a 40 track 2 CD remastering of all Ricks work, plus RICK was involved with it and picked the tracks. The CD spans his whole career, (not just the 80's) from his 1969 Band ZOOT, who had hits in Australia, to 1972's Speak to the Sky which was his first top 20 hit, to OUT of PRINT Work that Rick did in the Mid 70's which till now is only on Vinyl. The CD will conclude with his latest CD "shock" and include the Track FOR NO ONE from the brand new CD.

Wait theres more, obvioulsy RICK is on Tour, this band called FRICKIN A has covered JESSIES GIRL and Now Rick is in the Video, actually playing JESSIE!

Rick has been working independantly for quite some time and his old label BMG has been constantly putting out BEST OF's just to MILK the Fans, but now the Two are joining forces and working together again, and they are actually Pushing him, which shocked me.

WOW amazing news If U love Rick.....come on you know do, very underrated person.

Im surprised people arent going nuts too. Im very surprised to see a Label actually putting some dollars behind an artist thats 56 years old. Its not like Rick is going to pull in USHER numbers or something like that. But maybe its a sign that Labels are realizing that Longevity is more important to people than the Flava of the day.

Rick has also been making some $$$ the last few years, just from selling music on his web site, working independant and selling out shows. Which goes to show, that if U can PLAY than thats your FOOD.

"The Human Touch" (1983)
"Affair Of The Heart" (1983)
"Bop Til You Drop" (1984)
