Dissonance

There's a difference between a "whore" and a "ho". I have the upmost respect and admiration for "whores". Cher is right about those too though. A "ho" is cheap.

Cher is a "whore". Those too are "hoes".

...that's so low and no class, wouldn't think she'd go there, and then talking about ho's? She would know better than anyone, shi* and I like her music too. She better watch out J.lo don't smack her plastic french fry as*--or Britney and J.lo jump her, hehe

Well, I don't judge my actors and actresses by comparing them to Madonna, so that's totally irrelevant to me. I've seen a little of Mask on TV and I thought it was absolutely ridiclious. shrug Not what I'm looking for in an actress.

eyepop Are you being serious? Mask is one of the most moving films ever made, and Cher's performance in it is still heralded as one of the very best ever commited to celluloid. You've got to give the film another chance, this time with an open mind. You do know that it's actually a true story, don't you?
[Edited 2/21/05 14:24pm]

Perhaps Axchi696 mistakenly thinks you are refering to the Jim Carrey movie "THE Mask", also starring Cameron Diaz. lol wink

I like Cher. I'm more a fan of her film work - "Silkwood" and "Moonstruck" are two of my favorite movies - than I am of her music although I do enjoy her older stuff from the 60s-70s.

I agree with everything you said.I like Cher, but let's be honest, she doesn't even write many of her own songs. After Madonna successfully ventured into electronica/techno territory,Cher suddenly decided to follow the same route.Cher's last two albums are great, but I get the feeling that she just walked into the studio, sang lyrics that were handed to her,and then walked out.

Remember when Cher said in an interview that nobody can top Madonna?
Yeah that pretty much sums up that argument, even Cher had to step down.

She's pretty ridiculous now in days. The blonde wigs and the platic face, makes me wonder if she wants to be Barbie smile

Cher hated Madonna in the 80s,but these days, the two of them are friends. In fact,in 1999,Madonna was gonna direct the video for Cher's song "Dove L'Amour",but these plans fell through.

I'm with you, David. Yeah, she's obviously had surgery, and she'd be foolish to try to act like she hasn't. I still think she's pretty.

Apparently, she is wrote a few lines from "Believe" (the song) but is uncredited. Not sure how involoved she was in the process of that album or others but I'm not sure if "Believe" is excatly a copycat of "Ray Of Light". "Believe" is very light and fun for the most part, lyrically and the songs are more upbeat disco than electronic. I'd hate to say this but Cher made the vocoder cool again and if anything, "Muisc" owes a nod to "Believe" (although I prefer "Music"). I think Cher had some involvement on the writing for "Living Proof". The whole dance music thing really sprung out of a remix for "One By One", which probably became more of a hit than the original.

She wrote or co-wrote nearly all of the songs on "Non-Commerical" and has a hand in songwriting here or there but nothing like Madonna.

'Believe' does not copy 'Ray Of Light'...it was quite
obvious they wanted 2 cater 2 the club/disco (READ: GAY) crowd..
like they didn't expect anything from it..

Madonna on the other hand copied cher with the auto-tune cool

What does 'Not Commercial' sound like?

It was more rock oriented. She wrote the majority of the songs, and it was available only on her Web site. Hence the name.
