I went to Atlanta to see Maxwell and he WAS there, but after making us wait an hour past showtime, the management came out and said the show was cancelled!!! I have not seen nor heard from him since... not anywhere in the past few months, not even when he was nominated for awards. What gives? (We saw his bus leave as we were leaving). He cancelled the remainder of his tour altogether.

Last I heard he had been done for underage sex. It may be a rumour and I hope that is all it is!! That was a while ago but I haven't heard anything since!

Yep. But I don't remember the song really. I guess that means it didn't make much of an impression on me.

The main scene I remember is them both sitting on a porch or something playing guitar. At least D'Angelo was.

Btw, Voodoo is only 2 years old, and was released 5 years after his debut album. I wouldn't expect another D'Angelo album within the next year - but I don't know that for a fact. He's one of those people that doesn't seem to release new material that often, for whatever reason.

We're so used to a once a year Prince record but we can't expect that with most people, because most just aren't that prolific. Prince has spoiled his most ardent fans with such a large quantity of material over the years, and there are certain times when I think even he should slow down.

The Saadiq/D'Angelo song is called "Be Here" and is on Saadiq's new album coming out in a few weeks.

Also, the last I heard about D'Angelo was that he was stopped for reckless driving.
