The best by decade I've been thinking of some artists' best efforts, particularly by decade. My criteria was: whatever doesn't sound too dated, and whatever sounds great from start to finish. Because different albums have different vibes, I had some ties. I'm sure others will disagree with the choices.
Tina Turner: 70s- Rough 80s- Private Dancer/Foreign Affair 90s- Wildest Dreams Prince: 70s- (never heard any) 80s- Purple Rain/Sign O' The Times 90s- (very unsure) 2000s- Musicology Janet Jackson: 80s- Control/Rythm Nation 90s- The Velvet Rope 2000s- (never heard any) Michael Jackson: 70s- Off The Wall 80s- Bad 90s- Dangerous 2000s- (never heard any) Madonna: 80s- Like a Prayer 90s- Bedtime Stories/Ray Of Light 2000s - American Life MeShell Ndegeocello 90s- ALL of them 2000s- Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape Bjork: 90s- Post 2000s- Vespertine There are tons of artists not listed because I haven't heard the bulk of their discographies. Please fill in the blanks.

Prince/79/Selftitled
Prince /95/The Gold Experience And , actually i think every album he made in the 80's was good (too hard to choose from tho' Controversy is probably the weakest) And , sorry , i don't like Janet Jackson , Madonna and Bjork , so i can't elaborate on that I don't know Tina's and Michael's entire catalogues , so i wouldn't know either , and i haven't heard anything from Meshell Ndegeocello [Edited 2/19/05 18:46pm]
