The Commodores/This Is Your Life

Adored this song pretty much all my life. Off of the 1975 album "Caught In The Act", this is my favorite Commodores song ever. It's a VERY underrated song, I think. It's been overshadowed by other ballads. "Just To Be Close To You" for one, but this song is a gem. Granted, it's a straight bite from the Ohio Player's "I Wanna Be Free". It even comes with Sugarfoot's "awwwgurl" and those sweet strings The Ohio Players used to always use. BUT, it's still killer nevertheless. "This Is Your Life" even has a Beatle vibe to it. It's definately an anthem, in a 70's rock sort of way. Which I always found to be super cool coming from a black funk band. Anybody hip to this cut?

I loved the Commodores music. I still have their albums. Lionel was nasty in that group!!! Once he left the Commodores he became soooo boring to me it was unbearable!!! I only brought his first album, Can't Stop which was pretty good, but the others, please!!!

Zoom! I started to write a thread about that song, but decided to go with my fave. Zoom is a close second. I love the version from the Commodores Live album. I still play all this stuff in my car!
