Nikka Costa Update This is from Rolling Stone and I was going to skip the Detroit Lenny appearance but now that's over, Nikka is a must see live.
Nikka Costa Gets to "You" Singer is finally ready for her follow-up It's been a long wait for Nikka Costa's follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2001 debut, Everybody Got Their Something, but the rock/soul diva promises that the moment is nearly here. "The single's coming out in March," she revealed before rocking Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" at the Black Eyed Peas-hosted tsunami benefit in Los Angeles this past weekend. "It's called 'Can't Never Did Nothin.'" The album, Till I Get to You, will follow in May. Produced by Costa's husband Justin Stanley, who also worked on Everybody, the album was originally due last year, but, Costa says, "We changed it all." Among the players and collaborators who made the final cut are Lenny Kravitz, the Roots' ?uestlove and Jon Brion. Costa will also team with Kravitz on his spring tour. "I'm psyched," she says. "The title track is so in-your-face, it's gonna be fun to play." It's a joke, "Everybody's got their Something" was the 2001 release.
Nikka has been in showbiz since she was a youngster (the pic). | |
