Basement Jaxx news

http://www.billboard.com/...000800266'

Basement Jaxx -- who picked up their first Grammy Award Sunday night for best electronic/dance album for "Kish Kash" (XL Recordings/Astralwerks) -- are now without a U.S. label.

The act's manager, Andrew Mansi, says Astralwerks chose not to renew its U.S. contract with the British duo, which is still signed to XL internationally.

"It was a perfect time for this award," says Basement Jaxx member Felix Buxton, who adds that XL will release two new singles, "Oh My Gosh" and "You Don't Know Me" in the near future.

A 15-track compilation, "The Singles," will arrive March 21 internationally. The set features such Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play hits as "Where's Your Head At," "Romeo," "Good Luck," "Red Alert" and "Rendez-Vu."

A 14-cut bonus disc boasts 2 Many DJs' remix of "Romeo," acoustic versions of that track as well as "Broken Dreams," a Latin rendition of "Rendez-Vu" and the "Isley Bootleg" version of "Jus I Kiss," among others.

The same day, XL will separately issue "The Videos," rounding up 12 music videos, eight live performance clips from such festivals as Glastonbury and Fuji Rock and four short films, one of which was directed by Jaxx member Simon Ratcliffe.

Also in March, the duo will kick off a new monthly party, "Inside Out," at the Jamm Club in Brixton, England. Basement Jaxx will soon begin recording new tracks for its next artist album.

what the F is wrong with Astralwerks?

These guys need to get picked up fast. I hate when my favorite artists get dumped by their US label.

I was thinking the same thing. I couldnt believe that they would drop them. Theyve never been as popular as they are now. Their loss. wink
