Just saw a great concert.... Just got back from seeing a Hayseed Dixie-show here in Amsterdam. Boy it was amazing. Hayseed Dixie are a bunch of hillbilliesfrom the US (where else? ) who play rock-classics (from like ACDC, Slayer, Motorhead, Kiss, a.o.) in a hillbilly-style. This means: acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle & bass.....no drums. These guys could play and are a bunch of funny idiots!!! Amazing what a sound they made, very american.
Does anyone know about thse guys or are they too redneck/NRA for the org? I had a great time! Oh, and they drink a lot of beer! [Edited 2/17/05 16:38pm]

Hey wait up!
I got hold of their latest album for one of the guys in my band (he's not online and he had a heck of a job trying to find it in the shops). I think as a live gig it would be a great laugh and the CD is fun too. I wonder if the joke wears pretty thin after a few listens, but still, it's all good clean fun! As our band plays Classic Rock covers (AC/DC and so on), this is our kind of stuff. Altogether now YEEEEE HAAAAAW!

Maybe it does, but it will be very hard to deny their musical talent. These guys are nutcases but they kick some major booty on their instruments. I believe they said it was their first gig in Amsterdam and they were overwhelmed by the fact that the venue was packed. They said they expected to perform in front of 10 people..... It was obvious they were having a lot of fun. If you have the chance, go see 'em! Bring a girl with you, it's a great date & a good laugh!
