Can We Talk About SOUL?

that george michael thread is kinda heated!

some say he has soul. some say he aint got soul. and some is makein things real confusing!

i mean what IS soul?

1. You can sing country soulfully. You can sing rock soulfully. You can sing pop soulfully. It doesn't make it soul and it doesn't make you a soul singer. Some people don't get the difference

c what i mean?

so people what exactly is soul?
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

To paraphrase Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, I can't define it, but I know it when I hear it.

We answered this question about "what is soul' previously.

But I know when P said, "Can we talk about soul!..." that's when the 8 minute opus of Soul Psychedelicide opened my ears 2 a new horizon dancing jig

Anyway Soul is feeling the music. Making the listener feel what you are saying also.

George has soul yeah he does.

Now SOUL MSUIC is another thing. It is started by black folks and will stay that way, unlike rock which has been taken over long ago.
Geaorge is not ALL SOUL music, but Faith was probably his most "Soul Music" effort. The rest of his albums really didnt have a black sound all the way. None of his albums had that strictly like an R&B album. Nor does Prince...well maybe except for 1999 nod

Im getting fustrated
