An oft used term for Bands/Music that is seriously overplayed everywhere!!

Can anybody name the other members that aren't Will-I-Am or Fergie? And how did she all of a sudden surpass the other guys in terms of importance?

nod I cannot stand Fergie's voice. I've heard some of their older stuff, and it's not so bad. However, I cannot tolerate that shrill, screaming in their newer songs. Can't wait until they're no longer the band of the moment.

A pair of tits is an incredibly important marketing tool. If you can throw some blonde hair on them, you're golden.

Their stuff is kinda funky--Smells Like Funk, very much so!

Okay, it does look like they're trying a bit too hard. And their obvious "diversity" smacks of pop media. Their stuff is not too dangerous, but it's kind of nice to have some clean stuff to listen to.

They don't say the F-word once on Elephunk, incredible! I'll take them over fiddy cent anyday!

I depends on which version of the album you buy. My cousin's wife really likes them and bought Elephunk, but told me that because she didn't buy the edited version in Wal-Mart, she can't play the CD in front of her kids because of a few choice words.

Maybe I got the edited version by mistake But on the version I have they curse a bit but no F-word, which is the most common word on some albums these days.

I listened to my cousin's Elephunk CD and I don't recall hearing the F-bomb either, but did hear a few other words not suitable for little kids. So in my opinion it's not totally clean.

I'm prejudiced because no male/female hip-hop group has surpassed the Fugees in my opinion. I found their material and production to be edgy and full of things the world needed to hear. In that regard, even City High did more for me than the Black Eyed Peas. For me "Let's Get It Started" is too trite to be such a big hit. I do give them credit for trying to infuse some FUN into the genre though. It's nice not to hear a constant stream of filth and self-hate made in the name of keeping it real.

Well she is an aging former crack addict.

you know, for someone who is supposedly in their late twenties, she's not aging very well. she looks like someone who looks good in their 40's but as a young person, she looks old. you know what i mean?

Oh, I wasn't kidding. She had major drug problems some years ago, which is the reason for her premature aging.

They had one jam way backinaday . . . Joints and Jam. Luv that track.

They've been wack ever since.

Don't get me wrong. They're great bidnesspeople. They knew what they had to do to save their careers and it paid off for them.

But they're still wack.

Yeah, but all that still adds up to crap music at the end of the day.

Uh....it means that in my opinion, it isn't good. There is no gold standard for good music other than opinion. If there was a mystical Mayan machine that measured the objecive caliber of music, this forum wouldn't be here.

Easy Cochise. It's all a matter of taste. I am entitled to an opinion, last I checked!

smile

The fact that there are other wack acts out there, hell, the fact that hip-hop is mediocre in general these days, doesn't mean the Black Eyed Peas are immune from that. I didn't doubt their energy, their drive, or their business sense.

I just said they were wack. That's my answer to a question pertaining to me.

You know as well as I do the girl helped put them on. They were dead in the water before that!!!

falloff I know what you mean. I have that with almost every popular act nowdays. I am aware of who they are, sometimes catch a video, and just watch fascinated with a look on my face most likely like this ----> whofarted (twitching and all)

Me, too. And then (this is soooo shameful to admit) when I figure out what it is that's bugging me--the way they sing something, or a facial expression or something--I'll start doing it to mock it, over and over again. Like I'll do a Fergie-Thinks-She's-A-Sister move....

I agree, except for Elefunk.

Each subsequent album has not lived up to the first.

Just my opinion.

I want them to get rid of Fergie. I was a fan of them until that. To me, in MY opinion, she can't sing. Her on the stage at the Super Bowl, was just embarassing. Why in the hell would someone put out a song called "Let's Get Retarded" and then change the words? Didn't their dumb asses know that shit was piss folks off before they released it? rolleyes

The reason that they added Fergie is because so many of their songs featured a female on vocal. They needed some continuity, I suppose, so they added her. I was skeptical at first just like most fans but Ive grown to appreciate what she adds to the band. I dont see anything wrong with her being in the band.
