I personally will miss sir george micheal.
He's a very talented man, who I've enjoyed very much so.
His music has always been incredible and lately it seems he's become more laid back and easy listening...as far as the music is concerned.

George will always be respected in my book!
I wish he wouldn't leave just yet!
I'd love to see a world tour and atleast one more album with some hard hitting dance tunes.

But he's got a life of his own and a beautiful mate.
So I wish him all the best and am very thankful for all the great-fun memories from 'Faith' through 'Older'...including 'Patience'...which got me all excited because it had been forever since I heard new refreshing music from him.

As a 26 year old man, I grew up listening to him, prince, madonna and micheal jackson...of course things aren't the same, but all of them rocked!!! and I am happy to have lived in a period where all of them existed and were so huge!

Thou PRINCE is the only artist out of the 4 that excites me most these days...I'd have to say George is still in my top 3!

Wishing you all the best GEORGE!
God bless and Come back sometimes...

peace!

He does come off as a bit bitter He blamed his current lack of success in the USA on his own coming out.

Nonetheless, he's an incredible talent, and he made some of the best pop and R&B music of the 80s. The Faith album alone would be legacy enough for most.

Yeah , like we didnt know he was gay when he was in Wham! Him coming out was a total shock to Americans confused

But I'll give him his props as a real talented musican.

Seriously. Anyone who didn't know he was gay from the minute he wrapped his fingerless gloved hands around himself in the video for Wake Me Up... during the "it's cold out there, but it's warm in bed" part, has GOT to be sheltered.

He had some great songs in the 80's but trying to get a undercover policeman to jack him off in a toilet was his downfall ,people dont forget batting eyes rainbow

its a shame that people wont hear his new stuff as much, a waste of talent in songwriting terms. but if you can still download it then nothing will change from my point of view.

i dont need to hear it on the radio to justify my liking of it. his few albums were very rich in quality, as were a few tracks from wham, for the audience he aimed for.

maybe his style of songwriting is dated but that is what is missing freom music right now.

verse, chorus, verse, chorus, break, chorus, chorus etc still appeals to me rather than

idea/riff, idea/riff with tambourine, idea/riff with filter sweeping, idea/riff with bass drum, idea/riff repeats with a mixture from part of the idea, idea/riff with all hell breaks loose, idea/riff with rapping over the top, idea/riff until you're fucking sick of the idea/riff.

in other words, cut/copy and paste music.

He shouldnt be, it just feels too much like he's copping out. His last album may have underperformed in a way. It still got to number 1 (here in the UK) however. There wernt no number ones tho. I think thats because he wasnt focusing on promoting it properly enough, and instead was getting too involved in other causes (anti bush/blair war thing). He shouldnt be retiring man.

clapping What happened to actual music behind songs? Now, all we get is a cheap beat and maybe a synth overtop it.
