[Edited 2/17/05 14:54pm] further more, you have not said anything that would debunk what we are alleging..i could give a rats arse how long her hair (or your hair is) for that matter....you look at that picture and its obvious its not her real hair..but lets re-examine your statements: They Won't Use Fake Hair in the ads to avoid controversy.
we are good so far... I got a job doing a hair color show with Framesi of Milan and I walked in there with human hair extensions. Before they would even touch my hair, they told me I had to get the extensions removed and they were very strict about it. Small mom and pop companies may let you slide but, not the larger companies and again that was only color.
now this is where your own statement turns on you...nobody here is claiming that Beyonce had her hair dyed with her extensions on... The larger companies won't even use models if they are wearing wigs or extensions in their ads. This happened from a fall out about a decade ago. Cybil Shepard was working for some hair color company like L'oreal and later it was revealed that she didn't even use the product because she was a natural blond. That really caused alot of controversy at the time so they now take measures to prevent that from happening again.
this is where your agruement falls to pieces.. 1) Beyonce isnt a model..She is an entertainer... 2) Cybil Shepard was an issue because she wasnt using the product at all....Like I've said previously; using the dye on the weave would prevent any controversy on L'oreal's part.. and finally, are you seriously equating your experience as a model to those of B'yonce Knowles? I mean no disrespect but thats propostures...My best friend (and closest friend) is a top level executive w/ Donna Karen..We chat for days about the demands and shit superstars get away with....And my business partner's sister is a top model in NY..So, I guess I too can speak about the industry...right? come on now.....just say, "i dont think its a weave" and let everyone think otherwise.. Space for sale...

SHE IS A MODEL for L'oreal and Tommy Hilfiger 2) Cybil Shepard was an issue because she wasnt using the product at all....Like I've said previously; using the dye on the weave would prevent any controversy on L'oreal's part.. I'm saying that I've modeled for companies on the same level as L'oreal and I know that they won't use them at all. But hey, seeing that I've never actually modeled for L'oreal you may be right. and finally, are you seriously equating your experience as a model to those of B'yonce Knowles? I mean no disrespect but thats propostures...My best friend (and closest friend) is a top level executive w/ Donna Karen..We chat for days about the demands and shit superstars get away with....And my business partner's sister is a top model in NY..So, I guess I too can speak about the industry...right? No, I'm not equating my modeling experience with that of Beyonce's. She's primarily an entertainer. Shes also alot younger than me and I've been modeling since I was in my teens. I've modeled much more than she has-mainly runway, for far more companies and designers than she has (Although, we do have working for Tommy Hilfiger in common but, definitely on different levels. I did his shows not a national ad campaign). I'm not a celebrity of course but, I do know the modeling business. come on now.....just say, "i dont think its a weave" and let everyone think otherwise.. You saying that you didn't care about how long her hair was caught me off guard because that is how this whole thing got started. If you'll recall the debate was about the candid picture and the picture from the ad campaign and how ones hair could not go from the length of the "pony tail" as everyone called it, to the length and fullness of her hair in the ads. Because my hair is similar to hers in length and texture (which is why I made the black comment, I wasn't trying to offend anyone) I can express my KNOWLEDGE as to how it's possible.

It seems to me that it would be totally okay for her to dye some weaved human hair and still be within the confines of Loreal's contract. As long as she is using their dye on the hair that's on her head (not to be confused with "her hair") then she should be fine. And I do agree that she is wearing a bun in that picture, but the bun is very scant. I don't think that bun has the potential to become the hair that's in those ads without the help of additional hair. S Not true. I ran into that problem a few years back. I got a job doing a hair color show with Framesi of Milan and I walked in there with human hair extensions. Before they would even touch my hair, they told me I had to get the extensions removed and they were very strict about it. Small mom and pop companies may let you slide but, not the larger companies and again that was only color. VanitySixx, you have more patience than I. I can only assume that people, including many blacks, don't believe black women can grown long beautiful healthy hair from their scalps. I blame it on this damn weave trend that's been around for far too long. When will weaves go the fuck out of style. Because they are everywhere. I can't walk in a black church, school, or supermarket without seeing them in abundance. Now, people think every black person with long hair is wearing a weave. I have long hair as well. Not as long as yours but past my shoulders. I relax it but don't use any heat so it won't dry off and break. I'm sure that's why Beyonce keeps hers under wraps. I don't wear a weave, however, cause i"m not in show business where i have to use heat and do constant styling. But you know people of my own and of other cultures at work are always inspecting, trying to hunt from some tracks discreetly. Nope, I don't got 'em. This stupid ass child on my block was trying to be insult me by yelling out 'weave!' one day as her hair waving in a mess all over her head. No, no weave. Dammit. Maybe she should just not be jealous and take better care of her hair. Black people don't have to wear weaves to grow beautiful healthy long hair. Black hair doesn't have to be short, frizzy, dry and greasy, unless that is desired.. Hair care has come a long way. Blacks can have beautiful dreads, cornrows, and fros, but also, if we choose, to relax we can go straight and long too. I can spot easily when Beyonce is wearing a wig/extension and when she's not. I have no idea why others can't. Maybe they are blinded by jealousy, wishing they had Beyonce's hair. I guess with the looks, body, hair, and voice, she's just too much for folks not to hate. In that pic above. Yes, She has twirled her hair at the base and pulled the end through it like a knot. The end sticks out. The twirled hair at the base looks like the bun. In this technique, the hair loop is like the scrunchie to hold it all in place. (Try it right now, folks. Gather your hair at the base, Twist it in a circle around the base a couple of times and push the end under and through. See how it works, jackasses?! Sorry, but i'm taking this as a personal insult against black hair) I'm tired of explaining. You know, Britney and Jessica and plenty other people wear weaves with their long hair. But Beyonce, because she's black, is somehow frontin' all the time?? what? And yes, Ashanti's hair is naturally long. I rarely see Ashanti in a weave. I've seen her on a show where she actually got her hair cut. Her hair is beautiful. Never seen black hair look that good? Well, I'm sorry for you. It's not a wig or extension. Eat your heart out.

I love how this went from Beyonce's speaking voice to discussing the girl's weave. Brillant!!! She wears weave and I've seen her in US Weekly without make-up and hair extensions and her hair is long, but it's not that long and its waaaay thinner than that commercial. Personally, I think she has tracks just glued into her hair to make it look fuller for the L'Oreal commercials, but from pics I've seen of her in the last week, walking on the beach with Jay-Z, her hair was much shorter and thinner than that L'Oreal commerical. She may be "modeling" the hair color, but unlike a normal model, she was most likely asked to endorse their product. Models have to audition for the job; celebrities get invitations, which many times means that the company would be willing to bend the rules just a little to get a famous face to endorse their product. If a contract says that she has to use her real hair, than that's kinda what she's doing...she's using her real hair with some tracks glued into it, but her real hair is still showing. Hey, what's wrong with bending the rules a little here and there? Donatella Versace hires hundreds of models to do her shows, but, unlike Madonna, they don't get invited to do the ads and an offer to stay at Donatella's mansion any time they want for a year, plus all the free clothes they want and over a million dollars. That's just my opinion on that matter. Now, onto the speech discussion. I don't think that her "sounding country" makes her voice soo annoying...which it is. She has a raspy speaking voice and it doesn't help that she was pulled out of school at such a young age either. Britney Spears didn't finish school either and she's just as bad, if not worse, at public speaking than Beyonce. Just like it takes proper training to sing correctly; it takes proper teaching to speak properly. SPREAD LOVE UNTIL THE SUN'S FINAL RISE--The Duality a.k.a. "WYNTER SKYE"

OMFG...What the hell does Beyonce wearing a damn weave in those L'oreal commericials have anything to do with people not believing that Black women can have long hair. What's up with the sensitivity? It ain't that deep. Beyonce is the queen of the lace wig. There are plenty of Black women with naturally long hair. I believe that earlier in her career Beyonce was very uncomfortable speaking in interviews. but as years passed i think she's gotten better at it. she's said herself that she's uncomfortable with public speaking and doing interviews. she said sometimes she'd see herself on t.v. and ask herself "why did i say that?" or "why did i do that?". she also said she's only really comfortable when performing so it's understandable. most celebrities who have been in the limelight since a young age have bad speaking and social skills. because they most likely never attended school regularly. like michael jackson for instance. but i don't think beyonce is as idiotic as some of you are making her out to be. she seems to be a very smart, stable young woman with good common sense. she just has a common fear that we all have, public speaking. as for her accent, she is from the south. i know alot people who have speaking skills much worse than hers. i think it shows her genuine, down to earth personality. she doesn't fake a proper, bourgie accent. she just keeps it real, she says ain't, and cain't and thang and everything else with that country twang lol! and her hair....well, in the pic i see her hair wrapped around in the back, in a bun. i did a close up on it, it's a bun. and what ya'll was saying about ashanti's hair being real, hate to burst you bubble but me and a friend of mine saw her on a magazine cover, i believe it was cosmo or self or something and her head was leaning down, and right smack dab at the top was the front of a weave track. we looked closely and there it was. and i know for a fact it was because i wear weaves (and i'm proud of it! i have no shame lol) and her tracks were positioned just like mine at the top. guess they forgot to airbrush that out.
