La Toya Jackson's bid for a comeback will finally take flight this spring. Although originally expected last fall, the album "Startin' Over" will be released in late May via Ja-Tail Records and a new distribution deal with Bungalo Records/Universal Music and Video Distribution.

Jackson's return to the spotlight began last summer with the release of "Just Wanna Dance" under the pseudonym Toy. "People weren't giving me the chance to do my thing, which is to sing," she told Billboard in August. "So, I altered my name for this single to see what would happen."

Released to club DJs, the track reached No. 13 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart, laying the groundwork for her reemergence. The album's second advance single, "Free the World" (Jason Randolph Remix) was serviced to DJs last month, and is No. 33 on the Hot Dance Club Play list in the latest issue of Billboard.

"'Startin' Over' is exactly what I've done in every aspect of my life," Jackson says about the set on her official Web site. "And this album sings about everything people have wanted to know about me and my feelings towards my family, the tabloids, my friends, having fun, you know... my life."

She seems to be having success with dance music. I say give her a shot. You dont have to have brilliant vocals to be a great dance artist, (see Madonna, Britney Spears). Like sos said, if the music is good then we should give her a shot.

She shudda hooked up with Basement Jaxx & Daft Punk too, she got the cash she cudda done it, plus it wouldve garunteed another big hit too.

They've been talking about releasing that damn album for twenty years! It's the most anticapted album in the history of the world...the only problem is five people are anticpating it (and they are probably on this board, lol). Someone actually had the nerve to say last was the year of comebacks and had her on the list...she didn't even release the damn album, so why put her on there!

Those aren't the best numbers (it doesn't mean anythning for sales or radio play) but that isn't too shabby. Toy!

ive been waiting for this album for like 2 years after she announced it on larry king.

it's so exciting. Latoya is the Queen of the Jackson family as MJ is the King.

i agree that she definitely has the same plastic surgeon as jacko but have you noticed something else about her? if you look at photos of her when she was a kid, she was a normal brown complection. then in the 80's and 90's she was almost as white as jacko is now but lately she seems to be brown again? what gives? can you post old and new pics, so we can compare and contrast? cheers!

Those last two pictures are scary ,she looks so like her brother ,just not as white ,but she seems normal in interviews ,i saw her on a UK chatshow she was funny

and it doesnt look like latoya has changed anything beyond her nose..that family just has some abnormally high and perky cheeks...thats why they all look plastic when they smile....

(well, except for mj..he obviously has done more..)

I think Latoya was good looking in all of the pictures before she had any surgery.
