Which 80's song is "Serious" ripping off?

I can hear the lyrics 'this is the night' but can't for the life of me put my finger on the song title or artist.

Would any one be so kind as to help restore my sanity?

I don't know that it rips one off in general. It just sounds like a lot of those types of songs. It reminds me of redheaded Julie Brown, actually.

Those 4 orchestral synth hits are a nice nod to "Touch Me", but I don't think the whole song is a rip-off. It's my favorite track on L.A.M.B.

Yup, finally got the album for Valentine's Day, and after listening to it about 3 times Serious is by far my favorite track.

Tends to be a lot of people's favorites...so it makes sense that "Holla Back Girl" is the next single. You think she had a deal with Dre and Neptunes that their tracks had to be singles? That the only thing that makes sense.

Me too and "Touch Me" isn't even one of my fav Sam songs. I love prefer her SAW and Full Force stuff and her last album "20th Century Fox" was incredible. "Touch Me" was the jam off her first album, tough.

this track is too "80s in a bad way" for me...prob my least fave track on the album. i don't know what you all are hearing....i mean there are some interesting parts, but it's no where near the best on the album.
