Ben Folds- Songs for silverman to have DVD and 40 page booklet Ben Folds Is Back! New Album 'Songs For Silverman' On The Way
We're stoked to announce that key-tinkling pop genius Ben Folds has completed recording his new album 'Songs For Silverman' - his first full-length solo studio album since 2001's 'Rockin The Suburbs'. Listen out for first single 'Landed' on JJJ now! News from the Ben Folds camp! Fans have been waiting a while (with a few teasing EPs chucked in for good measure along the way) but the king of charming quirky pop BEN FOLDS is about to comeback BIGTIME with his incredible new solo studio album, 'Songs For Silverman'. Word is that Folds has now completed all recording for the album and is currently in the final mixing stages of the last few songs of the set. 'Songs For Silverman' is set for release in Australia on April 11 and is the eagerly-anticipated studio follow-up to his 2001 debut solo album, 'Rockin The Surbubs', which featured the tongue-in-cheek, ridiculously catchy single of the same title. But that's not even the best of it - we're excited to inform y'all that 'Songs For Silverman' will also be released as both a standard and special edition set that includes a 45 minute DVD of 'in-the-studio' and live footage, as well as an extensive 40 page booklet! Yippee! Until the big release day arrives though, fans will be able to wet their insatiable Folds appetites with the awesome first single 'Landed', which has already been added to high rotation on Triple J. The track is also slated for release in Australia this April. For those that might be unfamiliar with Ben's success in Australia, since 1996 he has - both as a solo artist and as leader of his former band Ben Folds Five - sold in excess of 250,000 releases here. The gorgeous and now classic single 'Brick', from the '97 album 'Whatever and Ever Amen', reached the Top 15 and generated such a buzz that 'Whatever...' rocketed past Platinum sales. A remastered version of 'Whatever and Ever Amen' featuring seven bonus tracks will also be released to coincide with the new album. | |
