80's Old School Jam Of The Day: Stephanie Mills-I've Learned To Respect The Power Of Love The small woman with the big voice. This song was a huge number #1 smash on the Billboard r&b chart back in 1986. All of you up and coming female vocalists..this is vocals the way they SHOULD be done. Stephanie absoulutely commands this song. You got to like the breakdown of this song at the end when Stephanie just starts pulling all kinds of stuff out of her vocal bag of wonders...just testifying on the mike about the power of love. Stephanie will be my girl for life as well as one of my top 10 all- time favorite female vocalists. She's surely a talent to be reckoned with and this song is all of the documentation one would need.

One of those songs that makes you sing along at the top of your lungs, when you know you can't sing. The Normal Whores Club

I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

Enjoy, Brother 9/15 Fuck Stephanie(for now). WELCOME BACK Boy, its been a minute since I've seen you posting. Back to Stephanie! She & Angela Winbush(who originaly wrote this sucka) dueted on it in the infamous Apollo as a gospel rendition(I Learned To Respect The Power Of GOD). Both cried while singing it at the end, that was circa 2000 when Stephanie was The Isley's live opening act and Angie was still Ron's wife.
