that whole performance was unexplainable, untolerable, and unnecessary. Who gives a damn about non singing J. Lo and her skinny toothpick philandering husband???
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Her Spanish is great for an audience in the USA, but doesn't go over so well when she's not speaking in Spanish from a script. I've seen her on Univision on a couple of talk shows, and she has to pause and throw in English words to get the sentence out.

while watching this fake telenovela (which is saying something, calling a telenovela, "fake") ...i was thinking that i was proud that she finally learned spanish to do this song...lol

back when she did selena and all the mexicans were pissed that a boriqua like her was playing selena, one of the accusations was that she didn't really know spanish that well to play the role...don't know if it was true or not...i'm not hispanic, so i could care less, but i guess to some latinos, this is a sore issue...kinda like us with the whole light skin/dark skin and "passing" phenomenom--but that's a whole 'nutha thread.

I LOVE Selena and miss her very much. But did you know that Selena couldn't speak Spanish very well? As a young a adult, she had to "learn" Spanish in order to "legitimize" herself with her Hispanic audiences.

The weird thing for me is that during J. Lo'.s performance, I could envision Selena singing that duet because her voice was just so much better and stronger than J. Lo.'s. Selena would have been able to vocally "keep up" with Marc Anthony much better than Jennifer. For me, the main problem was that Marc Anthony just overpowered Jennifer, so she had to "push" her voice just to balance out.

I don't think Jennifer is a bad singer necessarily, she just doesn't have the pipes that some others have. Jennifer should have done her own production number or something that was more balanced for both of them.

I'm not a huge fan, but I thought they sounded quite nice together. I couldn't understand the lyrics, but it didn't seem to matter. The song was nice and they performed it well - IMHO!

yes, someone finally agrees with me! she may not have the greatest voice in either of the languages but she did sound considerablely better than she does when she sings in english. i think it helps that marc anthony sang with her too because he was able to drown her out at times.

She was passable for most of the song. But it was a really boring performance and she dropped the hell out of that note near the end.

JENNIFER LOPEZ sounded better on this grammy show than she does in some of her recorded songs, so if she sounded bad here to you, she has sounded worst...I thought the performance was romantic and liked it very much. Being with Marc Anthony, maybe he can give her some singing lessons, it looks like he's had, or maybe he really can't help J.Lo in that arena. It looks like they practiced that missed note a couple of times and J.Lo tried to nail it, but didn't at that moment...but why she made it so obvious, who knows

her performance was tacky and a real kick in the face to every real singer out there trying to make it as Jay Leno said last night "Jennifer Lopez proved that she could sing off key in two languages."
