I'm actually gonna fly across the ocean and kick your butt if you tell me this is the best Jacksons material.

Particually "going places", which is overproduced dullness. BUT "EVEN THOUGH UR GONE" is classic.

Well, you got State of Shock and Torture on Victory. You've got One More Chance which Janet saved from mediocrity, and 2300 Last Ditch Dr, which even Latoya knew enough to stay away from. Some strange choices, to say the least. To each his own, I guess! I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Destiny->Off The Wall->Triumph->Thriller: MJ's creative peak imo. Every album just got better and better. All of these albums were funky, creative and most of all FUN. Michael seemed like he was having as much fun recording these songs as we did listening and dancing to them.
I think Thriller just got TOO big and everything after sounded like he was trying too hard to make a hit.

I agree with above. 1978-1982 was Michael's peak, vocally and artistically.

I'm going to have to disagree about "artistically". "Bad" and "Dangerous" have a less organic sound but they are far more thematically diverse and self-written.
