Saturday Love - Cherelle

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...that shit is hot man why don't you like that song?
[Edited 2/13/05 21:32pm]

Typical late 1980s...too mellow and midtempo. I prefer Cherelle stuff like "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On", "You Look Good To Me", and "Affair".

Yep, I agree. I love the cd, but Flawless is too techno-trash for me.

Don't Drive Drunk - Stevie

That song was only a hit in your house.

Mine:
Prince - I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (#10 U.S.)
Siouxsie And The Banshees - Playground Twist (#28 U.K. - Is that considered a hit?)

Glad we agree with "Enough Is Enough" but "I'll Remember" was my first Madonna single. That being said, it does seem to be forgotten very easily. I think I do like it better than "Rain" (very similar videos and sound). Also, for Stevie, I don't understand why people go with "Part Time Lover". I like it much better than "I Just Called To Say I Love You" (terrible).

It's Oh So Quiet by Bjork... Not because I hate the song, just because people judge her on that song so much! "Oh yeah, Bjork, she's that retro big-band singer, eh?" neutral

Yeah, that one too! That's his worst ever. And I didn't know that "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" was a chart hit, but if that's the case add that one on my list.

no no no! D'oh! A quick look at my profile page shows that that's one of my fave P tunes. Therefore, you must get the beat down punch

Saturday love is a classic mid-80's classic with Alexander O'Neal. It sounds nothing like late 80's r&b. Jam and Lewis in their peak years IMO. Oh well.. eek

It has that Jam and Lewis sound but when I say "typical mid to late 1980s", I'm referring to the tempo of the song. The early 1980s were much more funky, the mid to late 1980s were much more mellow with far less uptempo jams, which led us to the dull 1990s.

"Part Time Lover" annoys me tremedously. It's one of those trendy,mid-80s pop songs that everybody was doing at the time (Hall and Oates' "Maneater" is another example).Stevie can do better than that.

This was in fact a number 1 hit in Holland and is on the dutch version of Best of Bowie.
