She can't keep pleasing a few fans that are nostalgic for 80's Janet. 2005 will be "Ghetto Janet" Janet getting down with Dre and Snoop in a escalade, with her thug b/f JD. "Got till it's gone" was hip hop and is probably her best track . [Edited 2/13/05 20:21pm] No, don't get me wrong. I loved 'Got Til It's Gone'. I like R&B/Hip Hop, but I really don't want to see Janet chasing trends. I fear that it's going to be one huge JD production that's going to sound so dated in a few years. Janet used to set the trends in mainstream pop. Listen to 'Rich Girl' by Gwen and Dre. It's inane. Dre is no longer the groundbreaker circa '92 or '00. I want SONGS behind Janet, not just a sample or a loop. I just hope she digs out Control, RN 1814, and Velvet Rope to remind herself how she can be both of the times and above the times at once. Gwen has said that DRE hated "RICH GIRLS" and it was her idea he just gave her a beat. I think if Janet is smart she could turn a DRE production into a real dance number (which hasn't really done before) C'mon a DRE beat and Janet and some cherography!? it's a no brainer.

[Edited 2/13/05 20:29pm] That's far from fair, anyway. Madonna has since worked with Missy Elliott and Tupac. She decidedly didn't tap Vanilla Ice's "talents". PAC and Madonna? WHAT?! It must of been after he died cause u know if he was still alive that mess wouldn't happen, I hope anyway 2005 Janet and DRE! it's what urban radio would call "an event"

I've heard that Madonna didn't think the rap fit, and I also heard that her label didn't want Tupac on a Madonna record, so they called Me'Shell NdegéOcello in and they re-recorded it. [Edited 2/13/05 20:21pm] In a sentence: The hip/hop and R&B on radio is uninspired and cliche and frankly, that is why "Damita Jo" suffers. It's what is hot right now but I don't think many Janet fans want a Ciara record as sung by Janet! "Got 'Til It's Gone" was hop hop but its sooo different from the montonous painful beats that are hot today. That song was smooth, soulful, passionate and smart...and that's not even one of my favorite tracks on that album! The R&B music of today has less meaning than even "Damita Jo"....shallow as all hell! Not to say that songs like "All Nite" were deep but they had an awesome beat!

Irregardless, the beat is lame and generic. Dre hasn't done anything fresh in a while. Janet needs to find an emerging artist. I'd still rather have Dre than JD, though. Hopefully he doesn't get a cut on the disc. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

All Nite is a decent enough song, but i'd only lift it up to "good" status because it's drowning on an album of crap. on a good janet album, All Nite would be the worst song on there. it's really nothing special to me. pleasant enough to listen to, but just another light dance number. I heartily disagree with your opinon on "All Nite" and I think the many fans who think the world of "All Nite" will put it down as a Janet classic, whether they liked the album (and I liked "Damita Jo") or not.

I'm not sure why Madonna's name has popped up,but just to set the record straight...
Dre submitted a track to Madonna in 2002 for possible inclusion on her 'American Life' album. One of his proteges,Truth Hurts, confirmed this in an interview. She said that she and Dre recorded the song as a demo, and it was then offered to Maddy, who rejected it.Madonna liked the song, but didn't feel that it was the direction she wanted to go in. Madonna worked with Tupac in 1994.He recorded a rap for her song "I'd Ratha Be Yo Lover" (as it was called then). This song appears on her 'Bedtime Stories' CD,but for some reason,Tupac's rap was replaced by a rap from Maverick artist Meshell Ndgeocello. The version with Tupac can be found on numerous Tupac bootlegs. The single is listed in the TBA section at this link. http://www.musicmen.co.uk/content.php?content.2 One of our local radio stations announced this news the other day. They said the new single drops in May and the new CD will be out in early fall.

everything will be fine if this album
does better than DJ... which could have done better if performed All Nite at the Super Bowl and than relesed the single the next day and the album within a month of that, and had it not been janet. part 3 You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna
