I'm a sentimental freak went it comes to Hendrix so it'd have to be...



...the 1st one I heard on Smash Hits. touched

It's concise and to the point.

However the original recorded version from the U.K. release of Are You Experienced? would run a close second.

Those two are very similar to each other....It took me a long time to realize that they weren't the same takes....

Isn't the one on AYE in mono and the other version (on Smash Hits) in stereo ?
(that being the only difference ?)

Not sure about the mono/stereo ,but they are two takes of the same arrangement.One was recorded in Dec.66 and the other Feb 67.

The guitar parts are also different.
(believe me I know the Smash Hits version note-for-note)

And as I listen to it...i'm starting to like the U.K. one better. eek
