Seeing what people said about bad albums I found this lol **** A truly inspiring tone, February 7, 2005
Reviewer: Shaneequah Jones (Santa Clarita, CA) - See all my reviews Lumidee is amazing and needs to be praised for releasing this unique debut album. Most musical artists like Jessica Simpson and Mariah Carey oversing their songs to show off the magnitude of their vocal range and strength. Lumidee probably heard many of their albums during the recording of "Almost Famous" and she bravely decided to take a different route. Instead of belting out power notes like Clay Aiken would, Lumidee sings in a more scared, vulnerable tone that wavers and doesn't stay on the normal pitch. But then again, who likes normal anyway? Lumidee's courageous new tone is that of uncerainty. When she sings "I'll never leave you, uhhh ohhh", she isn't quite sure that she will stick to her original plan. This is only subtly obvious because of her wavering pitch when she sings. I wish more musical artists would take risks like Lumidee does, her vocal coyness is both appreciated and a breath of fresh air in a world of Christina Aguilera wannabes. Now u KNOW she need 2 be pimp slapped 4 that one! [Edited 2/10/05 23:56pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair
