Let me tickle your fancy!

this song popped into my head the other day for some reason. i think jermaine jackson did this song back in the early 80's? wasn't it pretty good? kind of electro funk on the prince tip?! what album is it from? is it any good?

Cheers!

He had many good tunes, including two #1 R&B hits - Let's Get Serious and Don't Take It Personal. My favorite of his is You Like Me Don't You. That's one smoooooth tune. And Let Me Tickle Your Fancy is from the album of the same name, released in 1982.

I also heart "Come To Me One Way Or Another" but this cut never shows up on his greatest hits comps. sad

Actually I don't think Motown ever released that whole album on Cd,just on Vinyl...anyway, it soounds like early 80's R&B- with a definite Stevie influence on some tracks...There's nothing else on the album that sounds quite as New Wave-ish as "Tickle Your Fancy", but there are some strong tracks on there...I think it had the misfortune of coming out just before Michael's Thriller album, So it probably got blown out of a lot people's memory pretty quickly...

Jermaine was certainly a solid artist, and if it was just about the music, and if he wasn't part of The Jackson Family/Circus-Carnival-Sideshow, he might have gotten more respect in his own right...but everything he does is going to be overshadowed by Mike's fame, and being "one of those Jacksons"...

The summer of 1982....that was a hell of a summer! I remember the skating rink DJs mixing "Let Me Tickle Your Fancy" with Felix & Jarvis' "Flamethrower Rap". They really turned it out!

I like this song.It took Jermaine in a new, exciting direction....a slick,New Wave-styled jam with backup vocals from Devo. It's a shame that pop radio didn't make this song the hit it deserved to be.

omfg I remember this song! I was a kid at the time and I thought it was SO rude, really appealed to my pre-pubescent sense of innuendo.

...some things never change, I suppose ! lol
