I imagine there are far better albums than that one...but you have to have heard them first, no? I said I didn't own that many instrumental albums, and the ones I have are mostly acoustic guitar (chet atkins, etc)... It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

Hands down it's "Romantic Warrior" by 'Return To Forever'. It just doesn't get any better than that!

... [Edited 2/11/05 12:31pm] I'll NEVER get tired of the Man-Child album, I love Porgy and Bess, Copland, and man that brings me back seeing The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly listed. My parents had that album and I really don't think I've listened to it since I was little. I have to add these two as well as some of my favorites.... Wired....well, I'm a big fan of early Narada Michael Walden anyway, and I love Jeff's playing there...and Blow by Blow is awesome! I gotta run home and listen to 'Diamond Dust' tonight! Well this has one vocal song, and it is a film score but kiss my ass but don't bite as the devil wants it later:-
"the land before time" The rest are instrumentals and is so beutiful. I know it is from a kids cartoon but it is mature and it does me tearful at times (bloody film music)..... James Horner is the composer.

I wouldn't say this is the BEST I've heard, but its my favorite for now:
Greg Howe, Victor Wooten & Dennis Chambers - Extraction. This CD is HIGHLY underrated and will be one of those CDs that hits the instrumental community years later with people saying "How in the hell did I miss that?"
