Just A Boring Ol' Thread About Spiritualized

I don't really have any great nuggets of knowledge or trivia to share about this band...I just wanna get some thoughts from other people who like the band Spiritualized.

I've been digging on them lately, and pulling out all the CDs by them I've gotten over the past few years. "Amazing Graze" totally got slept on, in my opinion. "The Complete Works" Vols. I and II are pretty nice as hidden gems go, as well. Of course, I think "Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space" will be the album they'll always be known for. Hmm. Anyone else dig on 'em?

Spritualized were great up to and including "Let It Come Down". "Amazing Grace" was really poor though - like a bad student band playing Stooges covers badly. I hope it's just a blip.
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

hmmm

I've long meant to pick-up some of their work. Years ago I lived with someone who was into them and I liked what I heard. But, I've never gotten around to actually buying a CD....

i don't think it was their best either, but i also think it was just a little bit of a departure and certainly interesting (for me, anyway) to listen to in contrast to their other stuff. i certainly wouldn't want everything they do in the future to sound like "amazing grace", but i appreciated it for the little something different that it was to my ears. interestingly, i was never really able to get into 'let it come down' that much, though maybe i never gave it enough of a chance...
