While in rehearsals for her upcoming tour, launching later this month, Ashlee Simpson has been working on adding a few cover songs to her set. Fans can expect to hear her renditions of Madonna's "Burning Up," Blondie's "Call Me" and the Pretenders' "Brass in Pocket" at the shows, the singer/actress announced on "TRL" on Monday

Is she going to lipsynch to Debbie Harry, Madonna, and Chrissie Hynde's vocal tracks or is she going to record her own to lipsynch? I'm hoping it's the former.

Croaked to the tune of.....coming soon too a bargain bin near you.

I don't see why people get on Ashlee for lip synching. She usually never lip synches. SNL was her first time doing it which is why she didn't know what she was doing.


"Burning Up" is one of my fav Madonna songs.

I never got on her for lip synching but I just don't predict any good coming from this...

I wasn't surprised that she lip-synced on SNL.
What did surprise me was how terrible she sounded at the Orange Bowl.
She had reverb, loud drums and guitars, plus pyrotechnics. None of that could disguise the ugly truth. Her voice is utterly amateurish and unappealing.
That's a recipe for booage.

lip synching in general doesn't really faze me anymore - i'm not thrilled with it, but it happens, and sometimes even artists who would prefer not to lip synch are forced to do so anyway, because the producers of some shows prefer it (less set-up time, less possibility for things going wrong, i'm guessing?).

still and all, it's one thing to lip synch, and another thing to just completely fail at lip-synching. i mean, come on...that's pretty bad!
