Jackson 5--Aint No Sunshine

heard the snippet of this while half watching the VH1 documentary on him, so downloaded it...all I can say is..DAYUMMM!!! I knew Lil Mike could sing...but he put his foot in this song...if you've never heard the whole thing, download it, buy it, whatever...just check it out! Not saying it's better than Bill Withers' version, but damn if it ain't a tie!
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

Yep, those were the days when Michael could sing -- seriously, that kid was talented! Those early records were some of the best the Jacksons ever did.

The group Soul For Real did a great acapella version of this song. This is one of those songs you could play over and over.

absolutely mindblowing performance.what about that scream? This is what I love about mike, he can scream smoothly, no need to screech. I wonder if he still can do that

Oh, man! I wish there was a compilation of MJ/J5/Jermaine cover tunes! It could include this song, and "Stand", "Everybody Is A Star", "Forever Came Today", "Rockin' Robin", "Daddy's Home", "Reach Out I'll Be There," etc. biggrin

Im going to get my J5 box set now! nod I love those solo pre-adult MJ albums too. MJ cant draw many comparisons when we talk about significance, longevity of career, and influence on other artists. Hes almost in a class all alone.

'scurse me? hrmph Michael Jackson's version is a'ight, but it doesn't come close to Withers' masterpiece. I can believe Withers missing a longtime love a lot easier than I can a 13-year-old singing it, especially with that cheesy talking intro.

Ya know, I've seriously been wishing that Mike would return to his roots a little bit and do cover tunes like back in the day. Little Mike and the J5 had some killer ones, like "Corner Of The Sky", "Forever Came Today", Who's Loving You", "Feelin' Alright" , "Ain't Nothing like The Real Thing", etc. Mike's voice is still one of the most beautiful musical instruments in the world and I think doing some cover tunes would reiterate that. I already have dozens of songs in mind that I would love for him to record, but I know better than to post that on here!

All five can be heard on this track...a rare thing for the J5/Jacksons.

That was Michael playing with his voice a little.

The first time I listened to it I was so "OMG! eek but in a positive way.
I couldn't believe my ears!!

I've heard some other versions (Sting, McCartney, Tori Amos - And I absolutely LOVE TORI) but none kicks Michael's...

I think I haven't heard the original, I've been trying to find it, but it has been empossible so far...
