I can't think of the name of the song, but I like the video when she skips across the continents. You know the one where she's riding the elephant. Her hair is in a litlle bun and she looks adorable. "The one thing missing was you..."
P.S. "If" kills "Vogue" in the choregraphy department. I think Jan would kick Madonna's ass in a dance off. **************************************************

I love how they apparently raided the Aliens set for ideas. lol Every other video in the 80s was shot either in a warehouse or in the largest abondoned boiler room they could find. Fave JJ video is Nasty followed by Pleasure Principle.

I don't know about that. I love both those videos, but Vogue is a classic of choreography - even if Madonna takes too much credit for the dance itself. The dancing was so creative and, in a lot of ways, very athletic. Mostly I remember Janet whipping her weave around in the If video. I love the way Janet dances, but she doesn't get down in that video like M does in Vogue.

Of course Dominic Sena is a film director so that was probably a tip-off to James Cameron.

It's never been among my top favorite Janet videos. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

I have Design Of A Decade on VHS, but am looking to find the 80s videos on DVD again. I kinda want to have RN Short Film altogether in its original sequence. What's your perscription, VC?

Buy the RN short vilm VHS off eBay - it hasn't been transferred to DVD officially, although you can find cheap bootlegs. The VHS still looks better, though. For the 80's vids, DOAD still offers the best option on DVD. I think Alright (Extended Version) is on The Rhythm Nation Collection DVD, and a few other videos differ between the two (LWNDWY is B&W in one, colorized in the other). [Edited 2/6/05 13:44pm]

They have the individual videos, but none of the non-single tracks are there (The Knowledge, etc.) and nothing's sequenced together. It's a mess. BTW the Miss You Much video on the DOAD DVD cuts the classic dance break with the chair for no apparent reason.

Wasn't the video for The Knowledge ripped off in Black or White? All of the breaking of the windows, and the steam coming up from the pipes, etc...? I'm the first mammal to wear pants.
