Grace Jones What do you ORGers think of Grace? I've loved her since seeing A View To A Kill as a kid. I also saw her live once. She and Madonna have that ballsy babe act that I love. Grace has her beat in the fashion department though. My favorite songs might be Bullshit, Hollywood Liar and Slave to the Rhythm. Warm Leatherette and Private Life are damn good covers too.

i'm a big fan of grace - 'one man show' rocks my socks.
..especially the "demolition man" part, which i have reinacted with emoticons below:

I like My Jamaican Guy,Pull up to my bumper, and Slave to the rythm [Edited 2/1/05 17:31pm] I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

Love her! I still have my special edition 12 inch of Slave to the Rhythm. Very cool. Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

good musician but she scared me when i was younger. "Thinking like the Keys on Prince's piano, we'll be just fine"

I bought her "20th Century Masters" CD and really dug it for a while. I'd like to get more.

Grace put out 2 classics IMHO - WARM LEATHERETTE and NIGHTCLUBBING.The stuff before that (with the exception of her cover of "La Vie En Rose" is basically unlistenable). LIVING MY LIFE was a bore (except for "My Jamaican Guy," which LL wisely sampled a decade or so later). I wish she'd come back and show these chicks how it's done. But are there any producers out there strong enough to handle her (and please, don't say the NEPTUNES)? Sly and Robbie were a perfect fit.

I love Grace Jones. Don't know what she did post-Island. Last I heard she recorded with Tricky, but the songs only got limited release. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Back in the summer of '81 when that song came out,I thought she was literally talking about cruising around town...lol...in recent years,I discovered the racy element of the lyrics. It's a sexual thing. "pull up to my bumper baby...drive it in between"

I absolutely love grace jones! she rocks! i heard she was woking on a new album but hwo knows when it will see the light of day. she should do a collaboration with Peaches, that would be something else. my favorite tracks by ms. jones are "pull up to my bumper" "nipple to the bottle" "my jamaican guy"! why the hell doesn't she have an official website so we can know what's she's up to?

C+C Music Factory did a fierce house mix of "Love On Top Love-Killer Kiss" back in 1990(?).
