Marvin, Marvin, Marvin! Tits down, baby.
Although I have a live version of the two of them doing it together that's nice. Although they do it in the style of Gladys's version. The Normal Whores Club

I guess I'm going to have to go against the crowd on this one. As much as I love Marvin's version, I think Gladys did it better. It's probably my favorite song by Gladys and the Pips -- and I like a lot of their material.

I prefer Gladys' version over Marvin's but I prefer Roger's over both of them. Andy is a four letter word.

Gladys and those Pips in a shawshank landslide.
Gaye's is overplayed as much as any soul record. But the reason I like Gladys & the Pips version is because it's more of a band arrangement, it swings and has the funk at its core. Marvin's is more introspective, and it wears on me. I'd be happy not to hear it again for the next decade. CCR's version is This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

That's why I like it better myself also. Andy is a four letter word.
