Ndeed! I had a Curtis Mayfield record marathon a few weeks ago, which included that tune...I didn't realize how much I missed his sound.... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

I mean, the melody... The lyrics..... Such a touching song..... Curtis Mayfield was on it, back then..... Yep, all of Curtis's material was crucial. Curtis was really the first black "pop" artist to sing about the plight of blacks in this country. Curtis set the stage for James's "I'm Black and I'm Proud", Sly and Stevie's early 70's material. Yes, Curtis was paramount. And one of the greats on guitar as well. Highly influential to Jimi. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Curtis is one the top ten R&B geniuses of all time, no question. That whole album is amazing. It set the stage for what's going on, innervisions, everything

From the Impressions through his solo work, always an artist that kept a high level of integrity in his work.
